Cooperation and Conflict are general phenomena that exist in the society and overseas-Chinese societies have no exception. This thesis is making a further research into the problems of Cooperation and Conflict, taking Canadian Chinese societies for example. In the methodology of the research, besides traditional historical theory, the thesis adopts theories related to Cooperation and Conflict in the modern society and the theory of interaction relationship, and makes a scientific analysis based on the basic principle of Marxism.The thesis makes a research into the Cooperation and Conflict inside Canadian Chinese societies from the year 1923 till 1999, analyzing the causes and background of the Cooperation and indicating its performances concretely, and mentions the great significance of the Cooperation inside Canadian Chinese societies, analyzing the Conflict background, sort and reasons ,and talks into the way of solving the Conflict problems.The main achievement of the thesis is first research into the roots, courses, performances, and interaction relationship of Cooperation and Conflict inside Canadian Chinese societies. From a new angle to study Overseas-Chinese problems, the scope of the research into the overseas-Chinese is extended.
