Seen In The Oracle Bone Inscriptions, The Preliminary Study Of The "jade" Information

The development of ancient jade peaked during Shang and Zhou Dynasty which is also the important period for the formation and development of jade courtesy . This thesis systematically arranges and comprehensively analyses the materials concerning "jade" in Oracle-Bone Inscription and bronze inscription in Yin Zhou Dynasty. This thesis probes the jade system recorded in the materials and the matters relevant to it in expectation to widen and push on the research of ancient jade in Shang and Zhou Dynasty and its relevant courtesy.The Introduction points out the significance of the topic , recearch materials and method ; comments on the achivements in the research from othe people .There are two parts , divided by Shang and Zhou Dynasty, in the main body of the paper . All together there are six chapters.Chapter one detects "jade" in Oracle-Bone Inscriptions in reference to Yin's implement Gui 《亞(?)作祖丁(筤皿)》; arranges the oracle inscriptions and epigraph concering "jade" in Oracle-Bone Inscriptions and Jin script of Shang Dynasty ; discusses the tribute and process of jade articals in Shang Dynasty .Chapter two induces and analyses the materials relevant to jade ( such as : rui, cong , bi , chu, er, lang , yu , zan , qing etc . ) . It arranges the textual explanation about gui in Oracle-Bone Inscription and gives some additional explanation and emphasises the significance of right explanation and pronunciation of gui to its formation and naming . It points out in Hua Dong oracle inscription is a jade article script and thinks that it possibly is the original form of "zhang", then, it makes some probing analysis .Chapter three is divided into three parts : "jade for offering a sacrifice (liao jade , chen jade , kan jade , gang jade , zou jade , zun jade etc. )" , "jade for presenting ( 'the occation for presenting jade' and 'the nature of presenting jade' etc.)", "jade for rewarding" . It inspects the jade system reflected in Oracle-Bone Inscprition and bronze inscription of Shang Dynasty.Chapter four arranges and explains the bronze epigraph in relation to "jade" in Zhou Dynasty.Chapter five arranges and explains the materials of bronze inscription in relation to jade such as gui, zhang , bi, yuan, huan , huang, zong, zan, pei, fei, yu , qing etc.Chapter six is divided into "jade for rewarding." "jade for ceremony" "jade for watching ceremony" , inspects jade system in bronze inscription of Shang Dynasty referring to the documental recording .
