Oracle Bone Inscription and Chinese calligraphy are two interdependent, indispensable subjects for the study on ancient Chinese characters and handwriting art creation. In the latter, he studies the ancient Chinese characters' application, the characteristic, the expressional forms, the future of Oracle Bone Inscription calligraphy.Wang Guowei once said," Oracle Bone Inscription is one of the four famousest discoveries in the history of Chinese culture, composed of Dunhuang Documents, Juyan Bamboo Slips for \vriting on in Han Dynasty, Cabinet Storeroom." This thesis focuses the question who was the discoverer of Oracle Bone Inscription, telling it like it is, after hackling the calligraphy history and the books of Oracle Bone Inscription during recent 100 year. The adepts, who had contributed to inherit and develop Oracle Bone Inscription calligraphy, appeared constantly since Oracle Bone Inscription calligraphy was established by the founder, Luo Zhenyu in 1921. With lots of pictures, this thesis exhibits many excellent works written by augural calligrapher in ali kinds of styles. It also analyses and appraises the works' characteristic from the viewpoint of an artier.It is ineluctable to indite oracle calligraphy in applying ancient Chinese characters.This thesis discusses some problems while the author collected oracle characters and analyzed a book, 100 Tang Dynasty's Poesy Written by Oracle indited by the author as a specific example. Then he expatiated on style characteristics and expressional forms of oracle calligraphy, standing on the academic point after he explored his inditing experience. With the further improvement of China's International status, especially its entry into the WTO, the application of Chinese characters will welcome more brilliant prospects. Oracle Bone Inscription, the originator of Chinese characters, will act more important position during China's opening door to the outside vvorld. It is necessary to put the study and inditing of Oracle Bone Inscription and its calligraphy tovvard a new height.
