The core concept of"The Great Oneness"is"Oneness"which stands for the"Tao"– the eventual existential realm that what Taoism try to express."Tao"that indicates"wholeness","completeness","perfection", and"roundness"is far beyond the concept"Twoness", it is in a completely opposite position to concept"Twoness". The concept"Twoness"represents duality, divisiveness, differentia, the concept"Oneness"implies"Non-duality","Non-divisiveness", and"Non-differentia". All the concepts either in negative expression or positive expression in fact means the same, they are interpreted by one another to form the circulation of interpretation which provides people with multiple perspectives for them to comprehend the abundant points in the thought of"The Great Oneness"of"Tao".This thesis studies"The Great Oneness"thought derived from before Qin dynasty to Han dynasty, by combing through the raw material of Taoism, the thesis disclose"The Great One"thought and its traditions from plenty of concept clusters of"The Greatness","The Oneness"and"Non-duality"; meanwhile it demonstrates Tao's Unknown theory, Un-speech theory, No-mind theory; These concepts and theories come together to reveal the nature of"The Great Oneness"or"Non-duality"of Taoism. It abstracts the system composed of positive formula, negative formula, special formula. It reveals the evolution of formula using from unmediated stage to conscious stage, as well as how the Taoism thought and its formula have been turn to the foundation for the translation and abroad acceptance of the Buddhist sutra of Prajnaparamita and Nagarjuna's Mulamadhyamakakarika."The Great Oneness"thought is the core of Taoism, it is the substantial representation different from theories of other Chinese cultural schools. The foundation of"The Great Oneness"thought is the ultimate consciousness realm that exceeds languages, senses and thoughts, or the Non-dual thinking model that exceeds the dual of subject and object. The thoughts and its foundation inherited by its successors have influenced other Chinese schools. The study of"The Great Oneness"thought and its foundation of Taoism help us to understand the relationship between Taoism and Buddhism, for which the conflicts and harmony between Taoism and Buddhism on certain extend comes from how to understand"The Great Oneness"thought and its Non-dual thinking model, the study helps us to discern the reason and foundation of thought absorbing from Nagarjuna's Mulamadhyamakakarika and syncretizing of Taoism and Buddhism.
