The research object of this dissertation is Penderecki's four symphonies, the first, second, third and the fourth, who is a contemporary composer in Poland. First of all, my interest has been focused on the evolution of the different styles on the identical musical types.Secondly, combining the objective fact of which the composer's alter on composing manner, it studies and exposes the transformation of technical essence and the aesthetics factor through the research to the identical type with different style.The main point of this thesis is compositional technology aspect among the four symphonies, studies the successful experience through the special musical language of composer himself; On the other hand, we observe the relationships between the avant-garde and returning tradition and observe the returning and innovative significance to Penderecki's four symphonies on the background of the end of 20th century. Because of lacking of such articles and books on research technical aspects of Penderecki's symphonies, it is still in blank space situation in mainland China.The analysis to the four symphonic techniques covers music structure, texture, conformation and development of the theme and melody, the Pc. sets and the motive, the harmonic method, orchestration and timbre and so on…The technical analysis is more stressed on composer's special treatment. Those points closely related to the musical expression, or innovational usage of the traditional techniques connecting with the tonal returning factor and the primary intention to the article. The first to the fourth chapters are mainly for the discussion on four symphonies'structure and detailed aspects of technical structure, including composing background of each symphony, integral structure and form ascription, etc…the explanation and employment to the musical types and, the relationships of secondary level structure, the tonality with various subsidiary structure, application and the method for running through to the theme materials, the regulated logic to timbre and sound (especially Symphony No. 1) and so on. The statement of the structural aspect and some other mentioned elements will establish a foundation for the further exposition to a series of music language.The fifth chapters is the summary to the music language fields of four symphonies, including pitch system and their thinking model, having aggregation musical interval and their expansion, mode-scale thinking connected with tonal returning, and vertical cluster thinking connected with "tone color- sound music" which was happened in composer's early years; also including harmonic application, means of unique texture and special skill in orchestration.Therefore, chapter 6 analyzes other technical elements those related to structure. Chapter 6 is Conclusion, summary around thesis'title based on various results of analysis in the former sections. And specifically for the thinking clue "being inherited to the past, for being posterior and developed ", summed up the transitional nature of Symphony No.1 the returning nature existing in four symphonies, and the new development of screw- type after returning. Penderecki turns himself as the pioneered technology to the trend of Neo-Romanticism since the mid. of 70's in 20th- century, the dissertation tries to explain whose generated power for the returning and certainty from the general trend of musical events and composer's thought change and adjustment to the inclination of art-beauty.
