Xiaoying Shi Research

Xiao Ying-shi is an important figure in the Ancient-Writing campaign in Tang Dynasty. His literature ideology and his position in the campaign have been deliberated comprehensibly before. But researchers paid little attention to his philosophy, literary creation, and the arrangement of his works. It is not conducive to the university requirements of literary history. In order to fulfill these gaps, this paper will take Xiao Ying-shi as a case study. This paper will probe into his writing and ideology basing on his culture background by the method, which combines ideology expression with texts arrangement.The body part includes two sections. The first section haves seven chapters. It is mainly to introduce his family background, experiences and his attitudes about academic ideology and creation.Chapterâ… is about his family background and life experiences. In this chapter, seven generations before him are chiefly researched and his several important steps are researched specifically. Chapterâ…¡is mainly to discuss his disposition and mentality. Paper will show his clear attitude towards his like and dislike and the primary influence of Confucian in his actions. The chapterâ…¢is about his literary attitude. Firstly, we will research his literary historical ideology, which prefers Confucian. Then, the advantages and disadvantages of his ideal about literary ideology and content, structure and style, function and influence are studied. Chapterâ…£is about the content, ideal and style in his poems. For content and ideal, his poems can be divided into two kinds: appreciation and friendship; nature. For feature, his poems are simple and unsophisticated. Lines four-character poem and five-character poem also have their own characteristics. Chapterâ…¤is about his ideological content and artistic achievements in Pianwen and prose. It also shows that his works had some combination features of Pianwen and prose. Chapterâ…¥is about his contribution and standing to the history of literature. His important contribution to the campaign will boil down to three symbols: established a basic theory for the campaign; created prosperous works to enrich the experiences of the campaign; fostered a lot of people for the campaign through teaching.. Chapterâ…¦is about his friendships, travels and teaching. In this chapter, we will give a chief introduction about his friends and the stories of their friendship.The second section is mainly to research the annals and emendation of his works. First, we give illustration to sources this paper consulted. Then, the guide is provided. At last, the annals and the emendation of his forty-four poems and twenty-one articles are offered.
