On the basis of and 40 kinds of right-wing literary periodicals existing in the 1930s in China, this dissertation hopes to reappear the right-wing literary periodical as a literary existence in Chinese modern literature history from the perspective of the excavation, examination and discovery, which has been forgotten for intentionally or deliberately for over half a century. This dissertation is composed of eight parts. The preface introduces the research actuality and significance of the topic, defines the phrase of "right-wing literary periodical". The first chapter expounds the literary background about the emergence of right-wing literary periodical. Kuomingtan gave the financial support to right-wing literary periodical not only the stimulation from left-wings literature and urged by local office of kuomingtang, but also the contemporary Chinese and the profound influence of "The three People's Principles of Sun Yat-sen". The right-wing literati hadn't inherited the essence of these thoughts reasonably and hadn't make full use of these thoughts to promote the literary, so that they were in vain. The second chapter mainly discusses that the right-wing literary periodical lost its direction under the rein of power politics and characteristy the passivity, counteraction and deceit. As the tongue of kuomintan in the literary field, the right-wing literary periodical illustrated three unique characters: the mission of besieging and repressing the left-wing movement, the loose of compiling group and the content of non-literary literary periodical. The third, the fourth and the fifth chapters are the main parts of the dissertation. The author analyzes almost all the available right-wing literary periodicals boldly and prudently by the limited research insight and ability, while admonishing myself time and again that I should study from the view of academic instead of documentary, being integral but not fragmentary research and demonstration about sorts of right-wing literary periodicals, basing on the justice and depending on the great number of original materials in hand that might have been presented for the first time in the history of researching modern literature, from a academic but no documentary. The sixth chapter analyzes the literary policy of the right-wing literary periodical implemented to cooperate with the authority. They repressed and tempted Lu Xun,left-wing writers, some liberal writers and other periodicals attachedto other literary camps, which accelerated the ruin of the right-wing literary periodical. The seventh chapter mainly interpreters some typical literary writers of the right-wings literary periodicals. The works of some writers such as Huang Zhenxia, Hou Ruihua, Wang Guoan, Li Puyean, Wang Pingling, which published in right-wing literary periodical at that time, are the prime interpreted text. The author makes efforts to keep objective attitude towards the research object, with the principles of a conformation in the denial, a approval in criticism", endeavored to find out the historical values and the significances in literary history implying in the right-wing literary periodical. The eighth chapter concerns on the literary construction carried out by the right-wing literary periodicals. The soul of the literary movement led by Kuomintang is nationalism, which is also the core of the "Three People' s Principles of Sun Yat-sen". Naturally, the focus of this chapter is nationalistic literary theory. Although the author affirmed the right-wing intellectuals had combined the literary and national destiny for the first time and proposed a tentative plan of building a modern national state by the media, the right-wings literary periodicals, and the key point of this chapter is how the right-wing literati distorted the Sun Yat-sen's nationalism and made their contestations tending towards the cultural dictatorship theory, supposed the relationship between subjectively literary and the era, reflected their contradictory literary theory in the right-wing literary periodicals. In conclusion, it is easy to find that what the right-wing literary periodical so-called construction of literary theory system and literary creation actually haven't the characteristics of system and innovation, compared with the contemporary left-wing literary movements and its periodical theory construction and literary creation, the right-wings literary periodical has such a historical rule: if a literary media has no firm theory in thoughts, and no innovation in art, it would hardly undertake the great mission of leading the development of literary in that era. Anyhow, right-wing literary periodical, as a literary system, helped a part of right-wing writers to realize their vision "conscientiously", or existed as a transmit platform for the right-wings writers propagated their political ideas by means of literary media. To this extent, we can excavate the value and significance in the right-wing literary periodicals which is worth of being research deeply.
