The first half of 20th century are the era of the sprout, development and gradually maturing of the Chinese piano music culture. This article takes the Chinese piano historical personages and their activities as a master line in this stage, gathers and summarizes the historical fact of each time of the era, synthetically uses the method of esthetics, psychology, physiology, pedagogy, culture theory and so on to historically contemplates the three aspects of China's piano music culture, such as the writing, performance and education from the multi-positions, in order to study and analyze the China's piano music culture form, basic characteristic, law of development and so on. The author hoped through the above scholarly research, can profoundly open out the inner link between the sprout, development of China's first half of 20th century piano art and its cultural environment, objectively appraise the achievement and the existent questions of the piano art, and give valuable suggestions to solve some realistic questions, and favor the piano art in our country a better development in the future.
