Wang-wei is a key figure in Chinese Literati painting history. In the Tang Dynasty, as a Literati painter, his position is not very important. However, in the Late Ming Dynasty, with the developing of literati painting, Wang-wei became the most important figure of the painting history. Through the research, this article believe that the critical moment of his figure' s change is in the Late North Song Dynasty, and Sushi is the active promoter, who developed the thinking of Wang-wei ,changed the traditional painting concept of Study from the Nature and influenced the Palace painting reform of emperor Huizong' s Academy in North Song Dynasty. With the mutual promoting of the Sushi' s painting conception and Huizong' s Palace painting, the position of Wang-wei in the painting history was established step by step. The essence of the historical process is the self-awakening of the Literati' s identity.The paper includes four chapters. Chapter one classifies the figure of Wang-wei in the painting history of Tang Dynasty, includes his life, painting history literature, thinking of Zen in poem and painting, and the relation about landscape of Tang Dynasty. Chapter two pays more attention to elucidate the figure of Wang-wei in Sushi' s Literati painting options. It approaching the question about how Su-shi considered Wang-wei from two controversies, transform the view and analyzing the works. Chapter three inspects the appreciating viewpoints of literati painting about Wang-wei and Su-shi, emphasizing the specific characteristics of the painting appreciation of the Late North Song Dynasty by expounding the works of Wang-wei. Chapter four discusses the question about how to lead the viewpoints of Wang-wei developing by Su-shi into the creating of the Palace painting by Song huizong, comparing with the related works.
