In this research, the Taiwanese students, refers in particular to those who studied in Japan from 1895 to 1945 during the period that Japanese took possession of Taiwan, including all the Taiwanese who studied for more than one year in all levels and all kinds of schools in Japan, such as primary school, middle school, institution of higher education, military academy, as well as correspondence school. For these students, the unusual and important experience is that they had ever studied in Japan, which gave them not only the common social cultural resources, but also the distinctive social political economic cultural attribute, and therefore, the students become a separate social stratum with abundant total capital. The sum of the students is large and their activities are many-sided. This research focuses on the relations between the students and Taiwan politics after the World War II. By investigating the performances of the social stratum (of students) on the Taiwan political stage, it tries to reveal the important effect of Japanese political culture on postwar politics of Taiwan. The students welcome the Recover of Taiwan and joined all the relative political activities on behalf of Taiwanese people; in 228 Incident, the students are the leaders of native forces of Taiwan; in the movements of "Taiwan independence" of the postwar, the famous chief leaders are all the students with abundant cultural capital; in the every political election of significance in Taiwan during the 30 years after the postwar, the students are often elected at the highest ratio of all the social stratums; in the shift of the party in power of Taiwan, the students are still the leading role. In a word, the students have a powerful and distinguished status and stand in for the native force. They are not only the important element influencing Taiwan politics from the postwar till now, but also the influence is difficult to be cleared up in a short time. So the research is both of historical and actual significance. The existing studies of this field only covers the political activities of individual or portion of the students, and there is no an overall survey on the political features of the students as a separate social stratum. So it is no possibility to show how the Japanese political culture affects the postwar politics of Taiwan, this thesis tries to fill in the blanks.By applying the Social Stratum Theory, this thesis reappear the students' participation in the postwar politics of Taiwan objectively, historically and straightly, and then proceeds to analyze the problems behind the historical facts by the historical viewpoints of the Dialectical Materialism. The main conclusions are as follows: the contradiction between the students and government officials from Mainland China reflects the differentia of Chinese culture and Japanese culture; the students' effect on the politics of Taiwan, reflects the effect of Japanese political culture on the politics of Taiwan; from which we can get an enlightenment, that is, the real power and prosperity of a nation relies on the modernization of science, culture and education.
