A Study Of "San Yan" In Zhuangzi Prose

This paper elaborates various annotations and collations on the book Zhuangzi and the study of its philosophy, literature and "San Yan" in the past dynasties, especially in the different periods since the foundation of People's Republic of China. The author points out that comprehensive and systematic study of the text, especially the "San Yan" of Zhuangzi yet remains far from enough. Taking the text of Zhuangzi as study object, this paper classifies "San Yan" and tries to make the book return to its original form in the history of literature.Chapter Two, Three and Four study "fable", "Zhong Yan" and "Zhi Yan" of Zhuangzi respectively, and demonstrate the origin of "fable", survey of "fable" in Zhuangzi and conclude features of its form and its differences from fables of other scholars on the bases of overall analysis of its embodiment. In the study of "Zhong Yan" and "Zhi Yan", the paper distinguishes their concepts and explores their origins respectively, and concludes features of their discourse form through classification and analysis.In the conclusion, this paper outlines the similarity and difference of "San Yan" in form and their flexibility in expression as well, and further elaborates the influence of "San Yan" pattern and the influence of "San Yan" style on literary work creation.
