Mao Qiling(1623-1716) was a remarkable scholar in the early of Qing Dynasty. Fifty of his works about the study of Confucian classics have been handed down to posterity. But because he looked down on convention relied on his talent and learning, and liked passing judgment on people , started something new just in order to be different, he contracted enmity with many scholars of that times and attacked by much of them. Under this circumstance that a thousand people point accusing fingers at him, the real features of Mao Qiling's systematic learning was covered gradually, especially at his study about The Book of Songs. Although he had proposed a lot of views with special values, they were not be mentioned by academic circles all along. For this reason this thesis plan to systematize and study Mao Qiling's works about The Book of Songs from the study of general theory and the particular poems in The Book of Songs to explore their values. This thesis is divided into two major part.On the series focused on Mao Qiling's study about the general theory of The Book of Songs. In the study of ShiXu's author , mainly analysed the reasonableness about the opinion which Mao Qiling put forward for the first that Mao heng wrote ShiXu, ShiXu same to GuXun in the book of Mao Shi Gu Xun Zhuan., explored this view's significance in pushing the discussed issue of ShiXu's author. In the study of Feng Ya Song, mainly inspected the sigmificance about Mao qiling proposed that Feng Ya Song were all the name of musical composition, and his demonstration about Fengyawuzhengbian. In the study of"yinshi", emphatically pointed out Mao qiling's criticism to Song xue, analysed the meaning that he proposed the ways of explain the poems, his study about Chunqiufushi. In the study of"shengshi", confirmed Mao qiling's criticism to the view of"shengshiwuci". Mao Qiling hold that"shengshi"in fact means play the poems in The Book of Songs used the"sheng", not refers to the six pieces of poems of Nai Gai and so on. This view was beneficial to end the discussed of"shengshiyouciwuci".Provision under focused on Mao Qiling's two works about The Book of Songs: Guo Feng Xing Pian and Mao Shi Xie Guan Ji. In the study of Guo Feng Xing Pian, focused on Mao Qiling's explanation about fifteen pieces of poems in Guo Feng, analysed the new ideas which he brought forth and the shortcoming in his study by means of comparing and textual research. In the study of Mao Shi Xie Guan Ji, investigated nineteen pieces of poems from study of Confucian classics and literature angles which Mao Qiling studied in this book, and commented his views one by one.
