The conservation and protection of rock-art begins with the documentation of a site and all aspects within it. Without recording, it is impossible to move forward toward a management plan. Recording includes many steps in areas of diverse photographic methods, mapping techniques, data collection, drawing methods and all other non-intrusive methods that a team finds of value. Methodology will depend on the direct goals of the project, funds available, skills and interests of project directors, time constraints and the configurations of the site itself.Sharing these techniques and experiences is vital toward world wide appreciation and protection of this precious part of our world heritage. The rock art recording incleded those technological :remote sensing, GIS(Geographic information systems),GPS(Global Positioning System), digital photography, digital database,Panoramic Photography, Virtual Reality, photomodeller. It's really begain that the research will be application different methods and technologicals in recording rock art flied work of China.Geographic information systems (GIS) provide a powerful tool to analyze the spatial organization of ancient rock art. We demonstrate the potential of multi-discilines technological analysis of rock art for the region of North-west of China and offer suggestions for the future potential of this type of research.
