First half of 20th century is an era of establishment and development of modern scholarship in China. It also was a transitional period from traditional academic to a modern one. The Important contents of Modern China academic constructs were academic inheritance and development on old and new Chinese traditional scholarship and western one. The groups of scholars of Chenyuan and Fujen Sinological Journal as the center were an importance of modern academic in China. Fujen Sinological Journal was the Journal of The Catholic University of Peking whose Primary intention was Chinese and Western cultures from founding. At the same as Fujen Sinological Journal, the fundamental purpose of The Catholic University of Peking was 'Development of The Chinese Culture and Introduction of The new world of scientific knowledge,' Showing academic orientation of China and the West academic culture. Fujen Sinological Journal was academic position for the groups of scholars who mainly deals with the arrangement and search of historical data and has a close connection with QianJia Sinology and western Sinology. The core position of the groups of scholars is Chenyuan,Yujiaxi, Shenjianshi and so on whose purpose and practice were 'capturing the center in sinology study'. This article's Object of study is the groups of scholars of Chenyuan and Fujen Sinological Journal as the center; and this article explores their academic origins, academic tenets, academic inclination, academic methods and their attitudes to hisotrical literature. This article takes more attention of the relationship of academic orientation of scholar individual and the development of western sinology , and the factors of academic organization and system stratification.The practice process of 'Capturing the center in sinology study' was the same as the process of change of Fujen Sinological Journal. There were four time sections. Firstly, from Fujen Studies society to opening issue of Fujen Sinological Journal in 1912-1928. Chenyuan put forward the idea of 'capturing the center in sinology study' in the 1920s. Secondly, the academic orientation of the groups of scholars was the introduction of western academic, especially the research methods of social sciences in 1928-1937. Thirdly, The Catholic University of Peking was academic isolated island in North China in Sino-Japanese War. Owing to Influence of Nationalism emotion, the academic orientation emphasized Chinese Traditional academic research. Finally, Fujen Sinological Journal was stopped publication in 1948. 'Capturing the center in sinology study' was unsuccessful.The idea and practice of 'Capturing the center in sinology study' is importance in modern scholarship in China.
