New realist novels as a literary event has been far away with the tide of history, but it left us with numerous possibilities to interpret"discourse".The internal ideas, emotional deduction process and spiritual pictures are all projected in various discourse construction processes, inevitably making it a contextual interpretation. So the core of this thesis is to discuss how to build up a narrative based on all sorts of discourse interpretation in the past with the vision of a general view .Chapter one focuses on"new realism"during various discourse construction. Through getting back to literary scenes, this dissertation gives a detailed analysis of all kinds of critic discourse and a new interpretation of"new realism"in the present historical context by referring to new realism in the narration of literary history. Besides, the author traces to the source of new realism and mines it, looking for works covered up or left out by historic narration and analysing the power relationships behind it. On this basis, the dissertation have rearranged and summarized new realistic novel in terms of origins, creative features, writers, etc.in a way quite different from narrations of literary history in the past.Chapter two discusses how new realist novels verge on the possible in the historical context at that time. In compliance with the waves of secularization, new realist novels of the time found their meaning of existence in the comparison of the subtle distinctions with other novels of similar writing styles. With the cultural influence of synchronic literary forms such as realistics and modernism (avant-garde novels), new realistic novels keep changing in terms of viewing angles and narrative styles of the"realistic"world, and ultimately with the strong support of external cultural force such as media and journals, etc. they gradually sprout, mature and grow in silence , leaving unique and indelible"prints" in the history of literature.Chapter three mainly discusses how"new realism"novels display the three most fundamental desires, i.e.material desire, lust and desire for power by way of careful reading of texts as well as the distinctive quality and significance of this way of presentation in the entire history of literature.Chapter four reveals the successive and transcending relationship between"new realistic"novels and literature during the 1980s.Besides,it specifically discusses the relationships among"new realism",discourse of the enlightenment, modernism and realism in the 1980s,in which we can find that the narrative styles of 1980s novels have provided"new realist"novels with rich spiritual and cultural resources, and that with changes of context and the collision between new and old culture, there emerge new cultural elements different from the old-time narration, which has caused the change of styles in some sense. Discourse of the enlightenment and modernism, etc. are drifting"signifiers"just like"new realism"itself. The conclusion simply discusses the several symptomatic narration of"new realistic"novel as a literary type change in the 1990s to demonstrate the transitional significance of it in the literary change of this period, with a further discussion about how novels of individual inclination such as"new realistic"novels and"Kainozoic"novels deal with public and individual issues.
