The Study On The History Of Xiongnu's Development

Xiongnu is an ancient nomadic nationality in the north of china in Han and Wei-jin Dynasty which existed about seven hundred years in china history.lt kept closed connection and frequent communication not only with the dynasties in Central Plains but also others nationalities around it.During the communication,crash and influence with others nationalities,Xiongnu society changed in every aspect and kept growing and advancing.Xiongnu made great influences to the development of Han people and other peoples that lived in north China. So it made very important value in national history and national relation history.This thesis made full use of the historical literatures and archaeological data, and applied the theories of different subjects like ethnology,history,and sociology.And it deeply analyzed and comparatively researched Xiongnu's development in every aspects including politics,economics military culture living habits and national relations and so on in each time of their Divided Time from mutil angle in order to make the development detail clear and explore the history process of Xiongnu's changes in further degree.This thesis consists of the exordium and ten chapters. Among them, the exordium part firstly introduces research surgey,existing problems about Xiongnu on academic aera,and the purpose,meaning,methods etc.Lastly emphases,difficulties,defects in this research are expressed.Chapter one discusses the resource,growing and dying of xiongnu;Chapter two to Chapter four focus on the social environment and situation around xiongnu,and probes into the developing relationships between Xiongnu and the dynasties in Central Plains and others nationalities.Chapter five to Chapter eight comparatively analyze growing and moving processes in every aspect of Xiongnu's society in different time through discussing the different development in all aeras including politics,ecnomics,military and culture etc,in their Divided time;Chapter nine mainly introduces the living situation of the masses of the people after the Northern Xiongnu was defeated in 91 AD. And this chapter stressly analyze the processes and reasons why north ChanYu who is the leader of North Xiongnu leaded their people keeping moving to west, and their activities and influences to Europe after they moved to Europe. The content of chapter ten mainly is about the researches of Xiongnu in Wei-jin Dynasty.This chapter discusses the process of xiongnu's stepping movement to center China and the influences to the Central Plains,and analyzes the branches and descendants when Xiongnu people mixed with other peoples during their moving into center China.
