The study of the Chinese episteme modality is always the key point in the literature study. Because of the complexity and the crying for the communication between Chinese and western literary theories, Chinese literary theory study has become very problematic and therefore, the study of it should be based on both the historical composing as well as the present issues with the new theoretical implement.I. The objectives and the significanceThere are two main objectives of my thesis for the doctor degree. The targets and the processFrom the perspective of Chinese ceremony and musical rituals, this study borrows literary sociological theory, focusing on the culture, themes, and styles to discuss the occurrence, core notions, thinking patterns, speeches and aesthetic values of Chinese literary theories.Statistically analysize the related references, this thesis will mainly study the present situation and the problems in Chinese literary theory study in order to bring forward the necessity and importance of this study. Based on the careful study of the history of Chinese literary theory, the history of Chinese literature, the modern history of Chinese literary theory, the historic anthology of Chinese literary theory, etc. this thesis is in search of the episteme modality of Chinese literary theories and the relevancy between modern and ancient Chinese literary theory.â…¢. Conclusion:1. The great tradition of ceremony and music rituals has decided the basic features and development direction of Chinese literary theory, and already formed the Chinese concepts that ethic and self-discipline coexist, anthropomorphize and interests are of the same importance; the pursuit of ethic and anthropomorphize is the main-stream, and the beauty and interests are the variation.2. The main types of writing in Chinese literary theory are poetry and speech whose dialogisms have influenced the integration of the superficial discourse equality and the profound'establishing the righteousness on the classics'and'conquest the saints by classics'. The inspiration and individuality can only be extended in the limited domains of the classics, and the creation of literature and literary theory, therefore, will be restrained.4. The thinking genre of Chinese literary theory is the poetic thinking pattern of which speeches-images- meanings--- doctrines has built up the thinking logic, values and significance of Chinese literary theory which goes from the surface to interior, from the facility to essence and eventually reveals the thinking patterns and stature as well as the value support.5. The aesthetic value of Chinese literary theory comes from the coexistence of the nature-oriented naturalness and moderation-oriented humanism.6. The above mentioned five aspects of Chinese episteme modality can find the relevance in contemporary literary theory. This living tradition is not only the historical origin that can not be got rid of and the important reference for the construction of the new literary theory in the new medium times.â…£.
