The history of the Five Dynasties and Ten Nations is the modern history to Sung Dynasty. And it is one of the important issues discussed by the high-level politicians, intellectuals, and common people in the Sung Dynasty. On the one hand, we are aware of the complicated feelings about the history of the Five Dynasties and Ten Nations in the writings of Sung people. The period is an important turning point. There are three sections in this chapter. The first is the historical status and research characteristics of the Five Dynasties and Ten Nations in this area. The second is the research of the Five Dynasties and Ten Nations by Ou Yang-xiu. And the third is the research of the Five Dynasties and Ten Nations by Si Ma-guang.Chapter Four is about the research of the Five Dynasties and Ten Nations in the age of Southern Sung. There are three sections in this chapter. The first is the historical status of the Five Dynasties and Ten Nations in this area.
