The Study On Early Poetry Education

Through the study of Poetic Education of all ages, we see those ancient poetic education theories have been enriched and developed in the illustration of'the book of songs'since Han Dynasty and modern poetic education theory study has been also involved in the study of the study history of'the book of songs', while the research objects are always about the issues on the Confucian literature theory, such as the poem expressing wills, no-evil-thought,'Xing'.'Guan','Qun','Yuan'poetry theory,'gentile-honest'poetic creed and so on. The virtual poetic education study has become a new research perspective since recent years according to the recent 20 years'study. The research mainly focuses on the following points;1. on the forming of Confucius poetic education.2. on the relationship between Confucius poetic education and Liyue system.3. on the analysis of the identity of Confucius poetic education.4. on the summary of the content of Confucius poetic education.5. on the aesthetic tendencies of Confucius poetic education.6. on the influence of Confucius poetic education.These concerned studies are inspiring and delighted. Till now, recent research on Confucius poetic education has truly come to Confucius poetic education itself and shows multiple trends, which made academic contribution to the development of the research of'the book of songs'.On the other hand, due to few researchers and scholars involved in this field, the slow progress of poetic education research is at the beginning period so that we still have many problems unsolved. For instance: on the connotation, the connotations of Confucius poetic education ranged from different phases of Chinese ancient time so that it is far from historical instruction to define Confucius poetic education as Confucius poetic education theory or Han Confucianism poetic education's viewpoint. The remarks on the non-merits and demerits of Confucius poetic education should be multi-dimensional, all partial are the ones from either modern people's ideology or ancient people's. So are the judgments from either the viewpoint of literary history or the history of thought.Another thing is that current research of Confucius poetic education lacks systematic study extremely like the evolution of pre-Qin Confucian, the comparison of the four poets'poetry in Han Dynasty, the orientation of the official school's poetic education in Tang Dynasty, the mutation of neo-Confucianism of Song Dynasty, the innovation of sinology poetic education in Qing Dynasty as well as the research on the poetic education concept of all Confucian masters of all ages. All of the subjects need further studying. In a word, present poetic education research is ascendant and has a long way to go.Our research subject is settled under this academic background. And we aim at collecting survived Qin-Han's poetic education research materials as detained and all-round as possible, sorting and integrating these materials scientifically, so as to give a detailed and complete account of the early poetic education's occurrence condition, cultural background, development content, stage characteristics, evolution reason and laws in Chinese ancient time.We believe, as for Chinese early poetic education, the Liyue system–founded at the beginning of Western Zhou- is the cultural source of Confucius poetic education, thus we regard the early Western Zhou as the beginning point of our early poetic education study, meanwhile in late Eastern Han Dynasty'Mao Biography by Zhengxun epitomized Mao's poetry and absorbed the advantages of the three poets'poems. It not only creatively summarized former Confucius poetic education but also influenced the 2000 years'poetic education history from Wei and Jin Dynasty to Ming and Qing Dynasty as the only heritage. Thus Eastern Han Dynasty became the terminal point of early poetic education study. We divided this book into eight parts in order to thoroughly describe the development and characteristics of early poetic education in every historic phase and give full consideration to both inheriting and evolution in different stages;1. the function of poetry in Liyue culture of Western Zhou Dynasty.2. the poetic education of Western Zhou Dynasty.3. the poetry uses and poetic education in Spring and Autumn period.4. the poetic education of Confucius. 5.'On Poetics'in Chu Bamboo Slips and poetic education.6. Zisi, Mengzi, Xunzi and poetic education.7. poetry classics and the four poets'poetry of Confucian classics in Han Dynasty.8. ancient classics-Mao's poetry on the study of'the book of songs'-founded and spread in the forms of preface, biography and note paper.All parts are in chronic order but not rigidly adhere to historic periods division, which observes poetic education development laws to emphasize the turning points of poetic education development.Part One is to analyze the early social and cultural background when poetic education came into being.Part Two is to review the under-independent poetic education in Yue system of Western Zhou Dynasty.Part Three is to illustrate the direct social cause for Confucius poetic education foundation.Part Four is to discuss Confucius foundation of Confucius poetic education and his poetic education thought and theory.Part Five is to present Confucius and his disciples'poetic education theory and practice through the study and analysis on'On Poetics'on Chu Bamboo Slips.Part Six is to discuss Confucius followers inherited, enriched and developed Confucius poetic education.Part Seven is to summarize the characteristics of poetic education of the four poets'poetry in the period of poetry classics of Han Dynasty.Part Eight is to specialize in how Mao's Poems school collected and innovated poetic education theory and practice since ConfuciusThough great amount of ancient documents and materials on the early poetic education have been kept and considerably modern research has been done comprehensively, great efforts are needing in early poetic education to research and sort out these materials and to borrow and analyze the findings. The matter-of-fact attitude, scientific approach, conscientiousness and meticulousness should be insisted to describe the complete image of early poetic education more realistically, to review the phased development of early poetic education objectively, and to analyze and summarize early poetic education masters'thought and theory. The writing of this book carefully follows the academic tradition of classic literature study,--respect positivism, speak out of truth, state with evidence, present argument with facts. We determined to stick to Marxist approaches of problem analyzing and problem solving, being objective, analyzing scientifically, judging and reasoning with logic means. We also comprehensively borrow the achievements from historiography, folklore, archeology, critical interpretation of ancient text, try to make plain illustration with solid evidence, to draw correct conclusion.
