In Qing dynasty, hundreds of poets and poems sprung up in the Wujiang Area. The authors of these poems fall into many types, among them there are heroes against Qing, common people left from the former dynasty. Also, there are who became small bureaucrats who served for the Qing Dynasty court through competitive and strict Imperial Examination System. Nevertheless, most of the bureaucrats are degraded unimportant ones with little power and low position. Moreover, there are unconstrained people, ragged people as well as hermits. Regardless of which type they belong to, all of these poets were able to convey to their sentiments boldly without any confinement like wild oats, displaying their unique poetic style. As for their experiences and visions, some have experienced the uproar of wars, some have a usual and peaceful life career; some make their mind and determine to resist the war; some, however, choose to submit to it. Some of them are impassioned elegy, some however are crooned without profound meanings. Also, some are composed to express their cynicism and sadness in terms of the wind or the moon. Some are composed with a longing for being a common person away from the empire, but others are also reflected in a praise of serving in a court.
