This thesis aims at a thematic study of "Shaanxi literary criticism in the 30-years of the new era". Shaanxi literary plays an important role in contemporary literature history, glittering with its counterpart Shaanxi literary criticism at various stages of its development, but researches into Shaanxi literary criticism in the 30-years of the new era are rare. Although the topic can be found in the commentary periodicals, it seems not to be systematical when compared with achievements of Shaanxi literary and criticism in the 30-years of the new era. Especially, an overall study on this topic so far is still a blank.The author believes that the literary criticism influences a lot in the whole literary history. It not only fosters the development both in writing and theory, but also deeply impacts social development. The regional literary criticism, as a cultural or literary systematic research for some specific region, has the especially vital significance for the cultural and literary development of this region. Meanwhile, as a part of the overall study of the national literary criticism, the slice of the regional literary criticism has cultural functions that reveal the national literary criticism overall style. Based on the above understanding, it is possible to try the regional literary criticism research as a new direction for the literary criticism research.In view of the fact that the academic circle has one kind of empty atmosphere, the research focuses on the collection and assortment of literary criticism materials, with "Shaanxi Literary", "Yanhe", and "Novel Commentary" as parts of the basic materials, as well as works of literary criticism and periodicals. The feature of the paper is to focus on the raw material collection.Shaanxi literary criticism in the 30-year new era exists differences of levels, contents, forms in different stages, but it couldn't be deniable as a unity. The paper expounds the four aspects:the historical evolution of the Shanxi literary criticismin in the 30-year new era, its layout construction, its spiritual connotation and its cultural mentality, attempting to achieve macro description and micro observation of the style and feature of Shanxi literary criticism in these years.The first chapter—preface elaborates the significance of the topic, the current situation and the trend of Shaanxi literary criticism in the 30-years of the new era, and defines its object and range. The second chapter reproduces the critical historic look from the perspective of Shaanxi historical development. After the Cultural Revolution, Shaanxi literary criticism and Chinese literary criticism sought for the outlets during the turning point. In the late 1970's, literary criticism, as the political vanguard, criticized the Cultural Revolution. From the early 1980's, with the national emancipation movement, "Bi Geng literary group" recover the traditional literary criticism of 17-year realism, practically through the seminars on the ups and downs of Liu Qing, Jia Ping-wa and other novelists aiming at the improvement and breakthrough of Shaanxi fiction-creation approach. The third Chapter intends to construct the critic pattern. With the awakening of critical consciousness, Shaanxi criticism in the 30-years of the new era, with the realistic theory and social history criticism as its core, meanwhile accepting other critical theory and models, in the comparison with the ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign cultural resources, in the analysis of the right impressionism psychologically and spiritually, in the exploration of multi-model for cultural criticism theoretically and practically, has formed a new multi-pattern. And the theoretical foundation for construction of multi-pattern is the Mao Zedong Thought. The fourth Chapter is "meaning the spirit of literary criticism." It is of the times, of people and of the Western critical consciousness, which is made up of the spiritual essence of criticism. The fifth Chapter borrows the theory"survival mentality" of Pierre Bourdieu structure dynamics, to elaborates the subtle relationship between critics and folks, and to reflects "MianZi" culture as well as business interests, thus calling on free and independent critical spirit.This article takes Shanxi literary criticism in the 30-year new era as a case, pays great attention to carefully examining the consciousness angle, analyzes the spiritual symptom of Shanxi literary criticism and China literary criticism, discusses the universal problems existing in current literary criticism and explores a literary criticism breakthrough, thus providing beneficial enlightenment for the healthy development of the Chinese current literary criticism.The author thinks Shaanxi literary criticism contains rich experience. With efforts from many critics, a group of well-known writers appeared. However, the present Shaanxi literary criticism and writing are confronted with landslip, appearing synchronic and many non-critical phenomenon, which will be implored in the conclusion part. It is obvious that the relaxing and free academic atmosphere is the objective factor to the healthy development of literary criticism. The enhancement of critics' quality is the most important part to get through the plight. For critics, it's necessary to possess firm knowledge, sharp aesthetic sense and profound mind, but self-reflection and independent critical spirit are very vital. Criticism has the real hope unless the critics release the powerful spirit.
