Erguna of Inner Mongolia is one of the areas where the Russian nationality of China is grouped. Most of the Russian nationality people there are offsprings of the Russian immigrants and the Han nationality of China. These Russian immigrants moved to our country from Siberia and the Far East of Russia, their mother tongue was Siberia dialect. The Han Chinese came from Shandong Province and Hebei Province, their mother tongue was Mandarin Chinese. And the Chinese dialect there belongs to the local dialect Nenker of subdivision of northeast Mandarin Chinese. During the course of one-hundred-year history, there are many changes have taken place in Russian in Erguna of China beacause of region separation and the environment of language contact.The author by making good use of data from field work, applying methodology of descriptive linguistics and contrastive linguistics, gives a overall description of the language construction of Erguna Russian and attempts to objectively unfold its language status by comparing with Siberia dialect, standard Russian and Chinese. From angles of language contact the author tries to explain and analyse the characteristics and the causes of language change in Erguna Russian, reveal the language factors which had important effects on its change.This dissertation is divided into five chapters with the exception of introduction and conclusion.The introduction sets forth the purpose of choosing of current topic, the academic value of choosing the topic, research methods of the study, the source of language materials and the relevant research on Erguna Russian. The paper points out that the work will fill a gap which has hitherto existed in language research of minority nationalities in China, give precious individual material in study of general linguistics, dialectology and languages which are in imminent danger.The First chaper is about the history of Russian nationality in Erguna, the structure of their population, education and social usages. The discussion will centre on producing and component characteristics of Erguna Russian by carding the history of Russian nationality in Erguna.In the Second chaper the author describes phonetic characteristics, sorts out the phonetic system, vowels, consonants and stress in Erguna Russian, gives an explanation and analyzition of main characteristics and trend of phonetic change in Erguna Russian.Chaper Three summaries the morphological characteristics of Erguna Russian. In this chaper the author describes the morphological characteristics of notional word in Erguna Russian, such as noun, verb, adjective, pronoun, analyses the characteristics of consistent relation and its cause, comes to a conclusion that in morphological characteristics of Erguna Russian lie the vestiges of Siberia dialect, but the influence of Chinese is the immediate cause which leads to morphological simplification and tottering in consistent relation of Erguna Russian.Chaper Four focuses on lexicon of Erguna Russian. The author analyses the formation of lexis, lexis change in Erguna Russian, approaches the influence of Chinese on the lexical meaning of Erguna Russian and comes to a conclusion that the lexicon of Erguna Russian is multilayered, it is tending to simplify, and its quantity-reduce. This is closely related to the influence of Chinese.Chaper Five is about the syntax characteristics of Russian in Erguna. The author attempts to find out the causes of syntax change in Erguna Russian by analyzing prepositions, connectives and conjunctive words, predicate, some sentence patterns and grammatical order.The last part is conclusion. This paper epitomizes the language status and change in Erguna Russian, makes a summary that Russian in Erguna presents pictures of degenerating trend as a whole, the functions of language and language construction are much weakened. All of these have brought changes or disappearance of intrinsic characteristics in Erguna Ruaaian, therefore it gradually lose vigour, and its regenerative ability and ability to innovate decrease a lot.Russian in Erguna based on Siberia dialec has changed by closely contacting whith Chinese. It possesses typicalness and specificality as a result of absence of the interference from Russian dialect and standard Russian and being laid an embargo on free speech during the Cultural Revolution in China and so on.
