Under The Background Of Economic Globalization, The Principle Of National Sovereignty

Economic base determines superstructure. Thus, any independent nation has to adjust its sovereignty strategy according to the changes of economic base under the economic globalization background. This thesis is divided into two parts, i.e., the introduction and the main body.The introduction consists of two sections. The first section is a generalization of the main points in the main body, and the second section is an explanation of the rea-sons for writing this thesis, i.e. the implication of this thesis.The main body contains four sections.The first section deals with the basic theories. Two essential concepts of econo-mic globalization and national sovereignty are expounded, and the focus is on three issues:the trend of economic globalization, how to differentiate the unique character-istics between developing and developed countries concerning the concepts of nation-al sovereignty, and finally the relationship between economic globalization and nat-ional sovereignty.The second section introduces the proposition and makes some primary discuss-ion. On the basis of the discourse on the relationship between economic globalization and national sovereignty, the conclusion is reached:the trend of economic globalizat-ion is bound to influence the exertion of national sovereignty. Therefore, from the viewpoint of developing countries and our national situation, the adjustment to economic globalization and the maintenance of China's national sovereignty to the fullest, should be concluded as the basic principle of China's national sovereignty strategy.The third section is the integration and analysis of various sovereignty theories. The theory of new national sovereignty is systematically discussed and evaluated under the economic globalization background. It's a negation of assertions about negating, confining and weakening national sovereignty and tendencies that overly persist in sovereignty. Then the proposition is arrived at:national sovereignty needs to be adjusted under the economic globalization background. The key point in this section is on the comprehensive analysis of the influence that the economic globalization exerts on national sovereignty, especially the profound influence on China's national sovereignty. The analysis is made from such international and national factors as international organizations, multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations, regional economic organizations, the development of new technologies, global issues and so on.The fourth section is about the investigation into prescriptions. As a developing dominant country, it's a must for China to participate in the course of the economic globalization. Meanwhile, China is supposed to positively confront severe challenges in all fields concerning sovereignty under the economic globalization background. Finally, the basic principle of China's national sovereignty strategy is summed up, and the suggestions on how to guarantee its realization are proposed.
