On The Research Of Voluntary Service In Vision Of Social Ecology

Voluntary service is a noble social cause and an important symbol of social civilization and progress.The emergence of China's formal voluntary services appeared in the 90s of last century, and it has been improved a lot for about 20 years, but the lack of theoretical research has been a "bottleneck" problem to restrict the development of China's voluntary services. Most researchers of voluntary services investigated the value, motivation, and management of voluntary services and analyzed the data as well as the general theory using the theory of Western sociology, psychology, management and other subjects as the theoretical foundation, but they ignored the guiding role of Marxist theory in the theoretical research of voluntary services at a large extent. Therefore, this research studies the composition of the voluntary service system as well as interdependence and interaction among the political ecology, economic ecology, cultural ecology, and social ecology (the narrow sense, here referring to the social class), guided by the Marxist social ecology theory, from social ecology (general) of voluntary services as its start, regarding the voluntary service system as an integral part in the social-ecological systems.In particular, this research in-depth mainly discusses the relationship of Core value system and voluntary services in social ecology category, global view of voluntary services and the relationship of voluntary services and objectives of social ecology civilization - a harmonious society, and at the same time, proposes how to improve the voluntary service system. Around these objectives, the main content of this research includes the following aspects in addition to the introduction:Chapterâ… : Literature Review. This part includes the definition of social ecology and voluntary services; research status of voluntary service at home and abroad; relevant theoretical basis of this research: Eco-Marxist material transformation theory, Marxist institutional Change Theory under the guidance of Marxist "social being determines social consciousness ", and Marxist social relations theory based on social capital theory. Through theory review of the three aspects, it provides a theoretical basis for this research.Chapterâ…¡: Ecological conditions of voluntary services in China. The special circumstances of the socialism primary stage decided the objective existence of three different voluntary organizations including the ecological situation of Chinese youth volunteer organization, the Chinese community volunteer organization and Chinese grass-roots voluntary organizations. This part describes current ecological situation of the three different voluntary organizations and operational characteristics in China, and lays the foundation for the research of the third chapter from the four different social ecology aspects of the development of voluntary service.Chapterâ…¢: The Social ecology analysis of voluntary service in China. This part includes the analysis of economic ecology, political ecology, cultural ecology and social ecology (social class) of voluntary service. It mainly demonstrates that the development of voluntary service is an objective phenomenon and the people's will can not decide it. Voluntary service in the modern sense has been introduced to China and has made great progress and development because it suits the economic, political, cultural and social (social class) ecology of China, and it effectively promotes the harmony of social ecology.Chapterâ…£: Global view of the voluntary services. This part mainly studies the World History of the development of globalization from the Marxist point of view; the emergence and development of voluntary service is closely related with the trend of globalization. And then put forward countermeasures for how the Chinese voluntary services responds to the challenges of globalization based on the analysis and demonstration.Chapterâ…¤: Voluntary services and objectives of social ecology civilization - a harmonious society. This chapter discusses that the voluntary services is the proper meaning of a socialist harmonious society, and voluntary area is an essential component of a harmonious society ecology; through questionnaire survey and interviews for the Shanghai World Expo volunteers and cluster analysis of statistical data, voluntary services plays an important role in the accumulation of social capital, promotion of social trust. On the basis of analysis and argument, this part puts forward the strategy including legal system of voluntary services, fostering voluntary culture and improving the participation rate of voluntary services to promote voluntary service in building a harmonious society.Conclusion: Marxism thinks that "social being determines social consciousness","not a man's social existence determines social consciousness but social being determines their spiritual life and political life." The reason that occurrence and rapid development of voluntary service in contemporary China, especially after the reform and opening up is that the objective needs that the socialist market economic system brought about social and economic development. Socialist market economy is a special form of market economy, it must have all the general characteristics of the market economy, such as interest-oriented, competition law and so on. The essence of socialism is to promote social prosperity and social equity. During the period of the primary stage of socialism which has low level of productivity in society and uneven development of productive forces, voluntary service can compensate for lack of market economic system to a certain extent, and it is a very important aspect for building the modern social system which matches with socialist market economy.From the level of China's current social ecology conditions and the maturity of the development of voluntary service, administrative organized means of promoting the development of voluntary service is very necessary. We must pay full attention to the positive role of administrative and organized means and try to overcome its negative effects. At the same time, we should vigorously promote and guide private voluntary services, and promote the development of private voluntary organizations, making it become strong support for building a socialist harmonious society. Therefore, the state should play a greater role in promoting the development of voluntary service, that is to say ,the country should promote voluntary services, voluntary service promote social harmony.
