China and Vietnam have a very close border where rivers and mountains are contiguous. The two countries also have had a long-term traditionally friendly relationship. Thus, in terms of culture, there are ideological similarities between the two countries. Like China, the nucleus of Vietnam traditional culture is Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism. Therefore, in terms of ideology, the feudal dynasties in the history of Vietnam implemented policies "Three teachers Yuan" and took "Confucian Buddhist Religion" as the mainstream ideology. However, on the political aspect, the two systems that are thought to have the most powerful influence on the traditional political ideology are Confucianism with Rule of Person and Legalism with Rule of Law. However, it is a pity that when studying the traditional political ideology, Vietnamese researchers usually refers much to the role of Confucian ideology with the Rule of Person and the Rule of Morale of Confucius and Mencius, but very little to the Rule of Law in the history of ruling the country. In Vietnam, the author of this thesis is undertaking lesson "History of Eastern Ideology" at Ha Noi University of Culture, and he always desires to research to better understand the long-lasting cultural relationship between Vietnam and China. Therefore, through my thesis "The impact of Han Feizi's ideology on the political ideology in Vietnamese traditional society", I want to justify the enormous influence of the Rule of Law on the political ideology in Vietnamese traditional society. The thesis is divided into seven chapters. Chapter1is the origin of Han Feizi's political ideology. This section generalizes the historical context for the emergence of Han Feizi's political ideology as well as the influence of other former legalists and ideologists on Han Feizi's ideology. From this, the author studies rationale for this emergence. Chapter2studies the basic content of Han Feizi's Rule of Law ideology including the combination of3concepts "Law","Authority", and "Technique". In particular, Han Fei decided to rule the country mainly by Law, and used the reward and punishment as the key instrument. Chapter3studies the introduction and development of Legalism in Vietnam. This chapter; hence, shows the relationship of Legalism with other ideologies such as Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism. In chapter4, based on the study of " Joseon law" which indicates the Legalism of Le Thanh Tong, the author compares it with Han Feizi's Legalism to point out the similarities and differences in Legalism of the two ideologists. The major content of chapter5is to study Legalism of Le Quy Don. By studying the two famous works of Le Quy Don, the author finds out His political ideology. From that, the author points out the unique insights of Le Quy Don in ruling the country. In chapter6, through "Ming Ming Cheng Yao", the author analyzes the political ideology of Emperor Ming Ming. Then we can understand His way of ruling the country in "Outsides with Confucianism, insides with Legalism". Thereby, the author can show the similarities and differences in Legalism Emperor Ming Ming and Han Feizi. Finally, based on the research, comparison and analysis of three Vietnamese ideologists, the thesis indicates the influence of Legalism in the history of Vietnamese feudalism. Then the author confirms the important role and great influence of Legalism on the political ideology in Vietnamese traditional society.
