Marxism is the theoretical basis and guiding ideology of the Communist Party of China, which is the conclusion obtained from new democratic revolution and the practice of long-term socialist construction. Under the guidance of Marxism theory, the CPC led Chinese people to gain the last victory of democratic revolution and great achievement of socialist construction. However, Marxism is not originated from China. Since the late Qing Dynasty, Chinese people have been learning Marxism mainly through reading the translation versions of the published texts. Just because of the influence of the translated and published Marxist Classics, large number of intellectuals with progressive thoughts and people with lofty ideals stepped onto the road of communist revolution after the May Fourth Movement. The leaders of the communist party of China, especially the leader of our Party-Comrade Mao Zedong, attached great importance to the translation of the Marxist Classics. It can be said that to some extent, without the translation of the Marxist Classics, there would be no Communist Party of China. And Marxist theory has been introduced to our country as Western learning entered into the East. All of this fully reflects the importance of classic texts'translation and publication to Chinese advanced intellectuals for knowing and accepting Marxism and further realizing the Sinicization of Marxism. The comrades who translated and published Marxism and its works, along with their translated works play an immeasurable huge role in spreading the Marxist theory. It is just from the source view of translating the Marxist classics that this paper helps to deeply understand and learn the Sinicization of Marxism and its historical process. It is of great significance to discuss the process of Marxism being spreaded and accepted in its early stage in China and study Marxist classics'translated and introduced version and its intricate process, especially the texts through abridging translation, partially translation and indirect translation of Marxist Classics from the viewpoint of translation, hi terms of choosing exact equivalents and accurately grasping the ideology, the spreading and acceptance of Marxism in China is an important component in the historical process of western learning entering into the East since late Qing Dynasty. It is necessary to fully pay attention to historical opportunities and specific links in the process of classics'translation and introduction. In the process of translating the Marxist Classics texts, the academic value of the theory itself is first concerned by people and its significance lies in emphasizing its practical activities in social and political aspects. Local political issues and social practice, the historical accumulation and future tendency of Chinese culture and the political appeal of the classics'translation have begun to be taken seriously and become the basic horizon for Chinese intellectuals to translate and understand the Marxist Classics texts. The Chinese history after the Opium War was once considered as the process of awakening from lethargy. From Liang Qi-chao to Sun Yat-sen to Mao Zedong, they all talked about people's "consciousness" and "awakening" problem many times. In the process of the awakening, text translation played an important role. During the process of translating and introducing Marxist classics to China, Chinese people had also been historically baptized in terms of their inherent language, psychology and thoughts. The field of translation is filled with the fierce battles, compromises and cooperation. In special cases, the translation is to rewrite. And it's to adjust, modify, polish and read the original version to a certain extent in order to make it conform to the practical needs of Chinese society at that time. Due to the ideology and linguistics, a certain adjustment to the original work makes it meet the dominant ideology and language of that time so that it can be accepted by most readers. Some scholars have already realized that Chinese accept Marxism as it is closely linked to China's traditional culture, which contains some innate factors similar to or close to Marxism. While Marxism is bound to change its own form so as to take root in China, thus, the Sinicization of Marxism has come into being. The Communist Manifesto written by Marx and Engels is the first programmatic document of scientific socialism. The advent of it sets up a banner for the movement of international communist which marks the human history stepping onto a new stage. The Communist Manifesto has an extremely profound influence on proletarian revolutionary movement of the modern world. Its political position and ideological content, its lofty spirit and supreme theory, its grand goal depicting for human liberation and its solid foundation laid for the historical movement of human proletarian also have a profound influence on human liberation. The following parts of the thesis will discuss them in detail. For more than a century, the translation of The Communist Manifesto in China has experienced the historical process of turns and twists and hardships, whether from part translation to full text translation, or from classical Chinese to vernacular, or from underground spreading to the public, or from spreading only among a few intellectuals to the mass of workers and peasants, or from only translating to Chinese to various nationality languages, or from camouflage version, handwritten copy, commemorative version to memorial classics, which all plays a massive role in the hundred years of reform in Chinese society. Before and after the May Fourth Movement, The Communist Manifesto being translated into China, has played an important role in China's advanced intellectuals'finally choosing Marxism and then it has been used as the ideological edge tool to analyze and slove the problem of the Chinese national destiny. The early translation and publication of its Chinese complete version play an immeasurable role in contributing to the birth of the Communist Party of China. In the early1920s, The Communist Manifesto was translated to China by Sir Chen Wangdao.Throughout the centenary reforms of Chinese nation and in the eventful years of combining the Marxism with the reality of China, The Communist Manifesto gets a brilliant and blooming glory while some incisive theories are still of profound and instructive significance to strengthen and propel the party's construction as a great project.MAO Zedong Thought originated from the democratic revolution and the early days of socialist construction, Deng Xiaoping Theory which guided China's social reform, opening and development since the reform and opening up, the important thought of "Three Represents" and the Concept of Scientific Development, combined with the national situation of China, all continually use new ideas to inherit, enrich and develop Marxism. Therefore, the system of Socialist theories with Chinese characteristics is the contemporary China's Marxism, which is also the abundance and development of the fundamental principles in The Communist Manifesto and other Marx and Engels classic works.Based on the former researches, this paper studies Marxist texts especially then-translating process and takes The Communist Manifesto as a good case in point to explain that correct translating Marxist texts and accurately expressing ideas and principles of Marxism have a great significance on both theoretical and practical aspects for the Sinicization of Marxism and the foundation of Chinese Marxism. When we study Marxism and we must learn true thoughts of Marxist and read the original versions, which begins from translating the texts of Marxism. Therefore, the Sinicization of Marxism is to first translate the Marxism into Chinese "words", which is the whole significance of the present thesis.
