.1954 To The End Of 1965 The Chinese People's Liberation Army Construction History

The thesis focuses on the history of the construction of PLA during the period from 1954 to late 1965 Firstly, I have studied the establishment and evolution of the guiding lines of military construction during this period. Secondly, I have studied the military normalization, modernization, political work and internal struggles in ideological and political sphere during the period. Finally, I have made summaries to the historical experiences and lessons of military contruction during the period. From these studies, the thesis makes such a conclution this period is a great development period in military construction, which shows mainly in the following: an overall planning of military construction had been made and the objective of struggle that onstructs an excellent, modern and revolutionary military was put forward clearly, completed simpcation and recognization, rejusted systematically the military structures and staff which had finished basically the transfer of PLA from taking ground force as the principal part to the composed forces with all kinds of armies; put into effect three systems of military ranks, paying salary and compulsory military service, which strengthened the normalization construction; formed initially a system in weaponry construction and made major breakthrough in the researches and making of most advanced weapons like nuclear bombs; procede normal and united military training which heightened greatly the political and military qualities of the officers and soldiers and the fighting capacity; succesfully defeated the efforts of ounterattacking the mainland?by the KMT troops, gained a great victory of the striking back in self-defence in Sino-Indian border, fulfiling outstandingly the military duties. Of course, there were some setbacks and disburns facing the military construction in this period. In light of the guiding lines and practices of military construction, there were both lots of experiences which worthes affirming and many lessons we must learn. Nevertheless, the achievements of this period was huge, therefore we can say that this was a olden period of PLA construction after the founding of the People Republic of China.
