According to historical documents, this thesis makes a macroscopical, comprehensive inspect for the PRC抯 religious policy by closely encircling changes of the time and the CPC抯 tasks of different stages. The thesis focuses on the process of the policy抯 fomulation and development, especialTy summing up those experiences and lessons in the religious policy抯 practice, aiming at offering suggestions for future religious pursuits. The thesis includes introduction and text. The introduction says that religion is a very common social, historical and cultural phenomenon. Today religion is still vigorous, and religious issue is becoming a hot question throughout the world. Thus, it is a very important theoretical and practical task to summarize the experiences and lessons scientifically since the PRC enacted and carried out the religious policy in 1949. The task will let us treat and deal with religions correctly in the 21st century, maintaining the integrity of the country and consolidation of the nations and guaranteeing socialism modernization undertakings with Chinese characteristic smoothly. The text consists of six chapters. Chapter 1 is religious policy抯 historical origin of new China(1921 - 1949). The chapter mainly inspects early communists?religious views, the process about establishment of religion belief freedom principle and other concrete religious policies?engendering and carrying out. The thesis believes that religion belief freedom put forward by China Soviet Republic Constitution Outline of 1931 is the stigma of the CPC抯 fundamental religion policy and the origin of the PRC抯 religion policy. Chapter 2 is fundamental establishment(1949?956). Combining Marxism religious views with Chinese religious conditions, the PRC government has turned upfiveprimarv characters about Chinese religions in theory. At the same time, principle of religion belief freedom being written up in the Common Guiding Principles and the People抯 Republic of China Constitution of 1954 is the symbol of New China religious policy抯 essential establishment. The main religious pursuits of this period are the Three桽elf Movement of the Protestant and the Catholic among the anti-imperialism patriotic movement and Buddhism & Taoism抯 anti-feudalism reconstruction in the Han nationality region. Then, it provides a solid political foundation for these religions to acclimatize themselves to the socialism society. Chapter 3 is zigzag development & severe frustration(1957?976). Because the whole nation抯 guiding ideology was becoming left, Chinese religious policy encountered with critical fluctuation, even so far as to be whole overthrown. The chapter抯 main contents are views of dealing with religious question in the framework of Two Contradictions Thought, the successful experiences of Islam & Lamaistic Buddhism抯 religious institution democratic reform, gain and loss of the Three-ism Teaching Movement, and the radical mistakes of overthrowing religious policy and canceling religious pursuits during the Cultural Revolution. Chapter 4 is rectification (1976 1989). During the PRC抯 history, the 駌st years of this period was rectification, and then began to open up and reform. But because of the radical thoughts among the religious area, it is rectification for the religious policy all the time.
