On The Yunnan Historical Figures Of Tourist Resources And The Protection And Development

Eminent persons in history as one of tourism resources has been successfully exploited both at home and abroad, which suggests great values and latent capacities of tourism about famous persons. Due to its specific geographical location and history, Yunnan province has produced so many eminent persons in its long history, and those persons have special values and attraction in tourist development. Chairman Mao once said, "from Confucius to Mr. Sun-Yat-Siem, we should summarize and inherit our precious cultural and historical legacy." That is why we should also summarize and carry on the precious heritage from Zhuang Qiao to Lu Han in the history of Yunnan province. The problem is how to carry it out in tourism, and this is also a problem with practical significance concerning how to exploit tourism resources in Yunnan.The dissertation selects historical famous persons, one aspect of humanitarian tourism resources, as the approach to the analysis, and the author exploits and inquires into historical eminent persons as tourism resources together with the illustration of geography, ethnic groups, and history in Yunnan. Of course, the author's basic intention will focus upon the protection and exploitation of eminent persons in history as a source of tourism.The dissertation comprises four chapters, besides the introduction and conclusion.The introduction gives a brief account of the reason and value of writing this dissertation as well as the literature review and the methodology.The first chapter illustrates concepts, peculiarities and its position of historical famous persons as tourism resource. In addition, the author gives its definition and puts up forward with its six main peculiarities as well as its four functions in modern tourism.Chapter two introduces the geography and history of Yunnan. Byanalyzing the geographical features, tourist divisions and history, the author tries to find out why many eminent persons were born and became famous in a certain place instead of others, whether there is a pattern of the locations, and what is the historical background.Chapter three is devoted to the detailed analysis of famous persons in Yunnan history. These eminent figures are classified and studied specifically according to the three historical stages, namely the years before Sui Dynasty, the Tang and Song Dynasties and the period from Yuan to Qing Dynasty.Chapter four is the main focus of the dissertation and it discusses the problem of how to protect and exploit such tourism resources as historical eminent persons. The author tries to find out the way of protection by analyzing the causes of destruction, and to put forward feasible strategies by introducing successful cases home and abroad.The conclusion is a review and a reflection on the problems discussed in the previous chapters, that is, some principles that should be considered in the exploitation of such tourism resources as historical eminent figures.
