A Study Of Market Economic Development In Rural China

The establishment of socialist market economic system not only presents us the practical requirement for a systematic and theoretical study of market-oriented economy in rural areas but also commits us to the historical task of probing into the development patterns of rural market economy. The practice over past 20 years based on the market-oriented reformation in rural China enables us to be fully aware of the reformation theme. Yet we have only a superficial understanding when it comes to how to develop market-oriented economy in rural areas. Therefore, to intensify the theoretical study of rural market economy, to reveal its underlying mechanism and to make clear the policy ideas to develop market-oriented economy in rural China becomes our realistic task which concerns the development of agriculture and rural economy.The dissertation applies system economics, development economics, game theory as well as modern market economics to the intensified and systematic study of market-oriented economy in rural China, which relates to the practical situation of reformation and development in rural China and revolves around the basic topic of "how to establish a complete market-oriented economic system." The study is unfolded from multi angles. The dissertation consists of 9 chapters which fall into 3 parts.Part I: Theories. This part mainly illustrates modern market economic theories and their practice in rural China. It involves rural market mechanism, rural market function and rural market development. A basic frame of rural market economic theory is shaped on the basis of cybernetics and system theory.Part II: Operation. This part mainly study the functional mechanism of the market economy's operation in rural China and its common pattern. It involves the motivation mechanism, information mechanism and macroeconomic regulation mechanism. This part is a standard study based on motivation theory, information economic theory and macroeconomic ideas.Part III: Development. This part mainly probes into the policy ideas designed for the development of agriculture and rural market economy. It involves policy guidance for market-oriented agriculture protection, operation objectives for science-and-technology-oriented agriculture development and overall establishment of agricultural investment mechanism. This part carries out authentic proof analysis based on game theoryand WTO agriculture regulations.The dissertation expects to sum up the experiences and achievements from rural market reformation, to search for directions and ideas for further developing market-oriented economy in rural areas, and to come up with steps and measures to cope with the new situation and new problems arising in the process of agricultural development in 21st century.The creative ideas lie in 1) the shaping of market-oriented economic theory in rural areas and its analysis methods of problems; 2) the revelation of the underlying mechanism of rural market economy's operation and its development patterns under macroeconomic regulation; 3) the suggestion of policy guidance and its operation plan to develop agriculture and rural economy based on the market; 4) the application of system theory and game theory etc. expands the fields for study problems arising in rural market economy.
