At present, it is scarce to make a systematic study about collective entrepreneurship; the integrative model about collective entrepreneurship is not established. This paper try o formulate the more systematic theory, set up two relation model and use structural equation model (SEM) to analyze the first-hand data collected from the small businesses of Zhejiang province in china, to conduct an empirical test.This paper mainly answers two questions: 1. Leader is how to indirectly affect collective entrepreneurship by influencing employees' attitude and behavior. 2. Collective entrepreneurship is how to indirectly affect the businesses performance by influencing the innovation rate. The findings can help owner/managers of small businesses in china better learn the resource formulating the businesses sustainable competitive advantage and what appropriate environment should be created. This dissertation is organized into eight chapter described as follow.The first chapter expound the research background, research contents, theory groundwork, mainly new ideas as well as total research framework.The second chapter reviews relevant literatures of leadership, team dynamics, collective entrepreneurship and innovation, based on which the relation models in fifth chapter are set up. First, I point out that it is essential to integrate both leadership influences and team dynamics, regard collective entrepreneurship as the focal collective performance variable. Second, I think that it is essential to integrate both collective entrepreneurship influences and the innovation, regard businesses performance as the focal variable.The third chapter clarifies and systematizes the concept of collective entrepreneurship. The starting point of mis chapter is the brief look at economic thought and explains the disappearance of entrepreneurship within orthodox economics. In spite of its displacement by the modern theory of the businesses, entrepreneurship thrives with the field of economic development Within this context, entrepreneurship attracts the attention not only of economists, but also of sociologist. This shift away from individual entrepreneurship provides an avenue to explore other possibilities. Thought as an important component, opportunity is combined with the definition of entrepreneurship. The field of collective action behaviors lends insight into why individual may organize into groups for collective benefit. A look at co-operatives and social capital helps to resolve the ambiguity, which is caused by the different use of the term collective entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship event provides a framework within which embrace the social benefits of collective action and entrepreneurship. The search for the meaning of collective entrepreneurship ends with a proposed definition. Four foundations, based on which collective entrepreneurship can be realized, are elaborated: individual leader, "Running hot", internal labor market, and mutual adjustment. Collective entrepreneurship is compared with innovation and "kaizen" strategy. Further, based on PDCA circle, how to implement collective entrepreneurshipstrategy in practice is explained.The fourth chapter explains that collective entrepreneurship may be considered as a source of competitive advantage. According to resource-based theory, businesses idiosyncratic generate from the idiosyncratic resource of company. Those resources must possess definitive properties, which is difficult to imitate, not purchased, perfectly immobile. It is precisely this bundling of idiosyncratic resources that the businesses controls that provide the strategic parameters for a businesses to pursue superior rents from which it derives a competitive advantage. Based on resource-based theory, I think collective entrepreneurship may be considered as businesses idiosyncratic resources, which is regarded as a source of sustainable competitive advantage.
