There has been a great achievement in vegetable industry since China's reform and opening to the outside world. China's vegetable industry (CVI) accounts for more than 10 percent of agricultural GDP and it excel all other produces at the amount of both internal and international trade. However, concerning to drives of economic development, the fast growth of CVI is mainly attributed to the domestic demand. At present, China is in the transition from planned economy to market economy, and there exists an obvious trend of economic globalization. Undoubtedly, trend of marketing and China's entrance into WTO will impact the development of CVI, which means both opportunities and challenges coexist. Admitted that literature associated with vegetable industry arenumerous, most of them are on the macro-level and for policy implications, and have notdiscussed the core of CVI's development-the practice of related vegetable corporations. Taking advantage of various research methodologies and combining theoretical analysis with practical summing-up, my proposed thesis is to discuss the general strategy of CVI from aspects of technology, policy and the development of relevant corporations. On the basis of above, firstly, this thesis will create a theoretical perspective. It is to study the history of CVI, draw experiences from the development of international vegetable industry and analyze the competitiveness of CVI. Secondly, taking into consideration factors like institutions and technologies, the thesis will discuss and construct six industry-supporting systems for CVI. Especially, grounded on the analysis of theoretical value of Shenzhen Model, the thesis will provide discussion on organization, institution and management for CVI. Last, based on the identification of CVI's practical choice and its future trend, this study will discuss the strategy for CVI during marketing and internationalization, which is the purpose of my research and also highlights the practical and theoretical value of thesis selection. Using the present related research fruits for referee, the thesis is to explore areas as folio wings:1. This thesis will in-depth study the history and experience of vegetable industry in countries, where production and circulation of vegetable are developed. Comparing their similarities and differences by using abstract analysis, models of foreign vegetable industries can be classified into USA-Canada Model (USA as a representative) and Island-Model (Taiwan and Japan as representatives). Valuable experiences will be summed up for CVI from them.2. Until now, domestic scholars have not systematically study the impact on CVI caused by China's entrance into WTO, and international competitiveness of CVI. From the perspective of industry economics and international trading, together with making most of Diamond Model, the thesis is to objectively estimate the international competitiveness of CVI. Further, in the aspects of organization, management and institutional innovation, it will draw experience for CVI from Shenzhen Model, with the purpose for improving the competitiveness of CVI and its sustainable development.3. Under the consideration of the acceleration of marketing and internationalization, and also taking account of relevant endocentric and exogenous factors, such as institution and technology, this thesis will discuss and construct the six supporting systems for CVI from the aspects of policy, information, social environment, technological innovation, capital investment and circulation. It aims to provide a practical and reasonable way for the development of CVI.4. The end product of this thesis is to identify the strategy for the development of CVI. On the analysis of practical selection and future trend of CVI, the study will analyze the impact of WTO on CVI and corresponding countermeasures. In detail, the analysis of the future trend will determine the institutional and technological selection of future CVI, while that of transition economy and rules and regulations of WTO will decide th...
