Economic Analysis Of The Moral Order

Every society has certain orders. Only when this kind of internal order is found, recognized and improved, can society run more smoothly. Even today, facing the serious damage of global moral resources, under the background of new age in which both government and market are playing important roles in allocating resources simultaneously, people can not avoid the theoretical limitation of "private vices being public benefits", even though they expand the meaning of "economic man" to explain the changing social order. I'm going to try to fill in the "absence" caused by the simplex analysis on the limitation of social order from the view of "economic man", with moral order on the basis of "moral man" and have an economic analysis on the moral order, although "economic man" has no intention to improve public interest in the condition of perfect competition market.In this dissertation, based on the dual-entity theory of human behavioral motivation, I firstly endow "moral man" with the meaning of altruism in the motivation, rationality in behavior choosing and the team benefit maximizing in pursuing the goal, and then set up an analytic framework of moral order. Meanwhile I avail the concept of "moral man" to analyze the altruism behaviors of microeconomic individuals, enterprise altruism of medial-economic organizations and institutional altruism on the macroeconomic level. In the course of analyzing, I try to explain the pursuit of "cooperative surplus" from the angle of the combination of "economic man" with "moral man", to analyze the altruism existing in the inner enterprises and between enterprises from the angle of pursuing the team benefit maximum on the basis of regarding enterprise as moral combination, and to apply the model of principal-agent theory to analyze institutional altruism of governments. In a word, the dissertation tries to show the importance of promoting people to choose a moral approach and then enhancing public benefit from the point of man's nature of altruism, wh ich is not only the demand of normal operation of market order, but also the key to building up a new moral order in the background of new age.
