After the entry into the WTO, an overall opening-up pattern has taken shape in China, and the economic security, as a strategic issue, will have greater implications for the lasting stability of the country. Since the economic security is largely embodied by industrial security, it is a very important task to perceive the status quo of the industrial security in a thorough way and take prompt measures to address the issue against the backdrop of further opening-up with a view to laying a more solid foundation for an industrial security mechanism.The dissertation, therefore, attempts to explore how to formulate an industrial security strategy in a more opening-up situation from many perspectives in order to be of some help for a stronger guarantee for the sustained, fast and healthy growth of the national economy. The dissertation defines the industrial security as the following: a kind of capability of a country to resist outside interferences or threats and to continue to realize the development of the national economy, which, in a larger degree, reflects the predominant role and competitiveness of the national industries. It is the manifestation of the comprehensive qualities of all the industries of a certain country and must be based upon the improvement of the competitiveness of the national industries. An answer to the question of the competitiveness must be hereby given. In the meantime, the inclusion of the discussion about the role of the management, particularly the Oriental Management, will help the study to better meet with the realistic demand of the industrial development of China.Because the study concerned conducted by either the domestic or international scholars has just been focused upon the industry itself with relatively simple research methods, the dissertation tries to blaze a new path by applying the theoretical knowledge of international finance, trade, investment, law and Oriental Management with the support of international economics, institutional economics, development economics, study of management under the guidance of Marxism.
