As current objective and historical world trend, globalization, an issue attracting universal attention and a theme that various subjects attend to and study, exerts great influence on various fields such as politics, economy, culture, and so on. Being an important means of the social practice of human kind and an activity reflecting the influence of subjectivity on objectivity, the ideological and political education should pay special attention to the theme of globalization. Globalization and social ideology, especially globalization and the ideological and political education ought to be an important theoretical and practical theme in the beginning of the new century. It is a practical and urgent task for us researchers to study how. to innovate the ideological and political education in the globalizing context. Therefore, probing from the perspective of social ideological construction into the theme has great theoretical and practical significance.The following presents the abstract and the structure of the thesis:Part One (Introduction) presents the significance of the study, current research situation on the theme, rationale and research methods of the study. The current study concludes that research on the innovations in the ideological and political education in the globalization context is of great academic value and realistic significance.Part Two (Chapter One) expounds on the meaning and essential characteristics of globalization, the origin of globalization, the dynamics of globalization, and the influence of globalization on China. As the globalization trends are sweeping throughout the world, appropriate comprehension of the real meanings of globalization and its essential characteristics has been a thorny issue facing the politics circle, the academic circle, and the enterprise circle in each country. Globalization refers to the objective historical development and trend in which human beings communicate, contact, and interact beyond the boundaries of countries and regions in every direction, in each domain, and at various levels. A fundamental issue of controversy both at home and abroad is the origin of globalization. The researcherthinks that globalization, as a historical category, therefore not existing all times, originated after World War II when the trade and exchange in merchandise, services, and capitals and the spread of techniques across nations increase the interdependency of the economy of all countries. Prior to this human beings had undergone the socialization process of change from apes to human beings and the intemalization process dependent on such scientific techniques as navigation and astronomy. Socialization, intemalization, and globalization are important symbols of the development and progress of the human society. In particular, the development of the globalization trends will be more beneficial to the progress and development of the human society. Globalization is the most essential characteristic of the progress in current world economy, which has exerted, and now is exerting, and will exert a great influence upon economy, politics, and culture in China. Thus it is an issue of great importance that faces us all and needs serious research.Part Three (Chapter Two) expounds on the innovations in theories in the context of globalization. The thesis thinks that the human society enters a new epoch with the evolution of globalization. In such a context the most urgent theoretical and practical task in all the fields and realms is nothing but innovation. With great advances in science and technology in the world and the sophisticated and diversified international situation, increasingly arduous and complex internal reform tasks, and the general developing trend of economic globalization, political multi-polarizing, culture diversification, and social information in the 21st century, the innovative consciousness has been increasingly enhanced, the innovative standards has been continuously improved, and the understanding of the innovations has been constantly furthered. Innovation, which has been a universal phenomenon in the human society, does not cover the economic realm only, but it also includes politics, military, culture, education, and even every aspect of the social activities. With increasing competition, in order that we can adapt to the developing trend of globalization and gain an advantage over other countries, we should not only realize the importance of innovations in knowledge, strengthen the sense of pressure in innovation, and most important of all, we should know how to innovate, carry oninnovations honestly and dedicatively, and unify the creative motive and creative achievements, thus making the Chinese one of the strong nations in the world.Part Four (Chapter Three) analyzes globalization and the ideological and political education. The thesis thinks that the ideological and political education of the Party is the lifeline of the economic working and all other working; it is the central link unifying the Party and each nationality and fulfilling various tasks of the Party and nation; and it is an important political advantage of our party and the socialism countries. In the globalization context, how can the ideological and political education exert such a great influence? First of all, we must analyze profoundly the objective environment in which the new situation affects the ideological activities of the cadres and the masses, and its essential characteristics from both the perspectives of home and abroad, history and reality, and we must properly inspect and solve those important theoretical and practical issues which influence the ideological activities of the cadres and the masses. In a word, it is necessary to understand fully the social historical conditions that the ideological and political education faces, which is the basic premise on which we do well in the ideological and political education in the new epoch. Secondly we should be fully conscious of the dual influences of the globalization on the ideological and political education. We should not only know its negative influences on the defensive power in the socialism ideality and beliefs, patriotism, the security of national culture, the direction of the public opinions, and the socialism ideology, but we also should understand that the globalization provides the ideological and political education in the new epoch with favorable political background, brand-new ideological foundation, profound store in knowledge, and good opportunities for renovating people's ideological conceptions. We are now faced with both the challenges and the opportunities, and we must keep innovating in the ideological and political education. Only in this way can it really become the political advantage of our party and become the lifeline of the economy work and other realms. Once the explorations and innovations are separated from the ideological and political education, it will have no vitality and battle effectiveness.Part Five (Chapter Four) elaborates on the innovations in the ideological andpolitical education. The thesis believes that conception is the result of the function of opinions, ideology, and thinking. Being the result of the function of thinking, conception exists in the activities of the subject. However, it is not a precise systematic theory but an ideology which integrates a series of forms of thinking and its specific links. The conception innovation, based on the progress and the changes of the objective world, refers to the process in which human beings adapt to the development and changes in the objective world, and scientifically, precisely grasp the changing laws and evolution trend, and properly conceive new thoughts, new ideas, and new ideologies, to form a proper understanding of the changed objective world. Understanding fully the basic connotations of conception and conception innovations is the basis on which we explore and study the conception innovations in the ideological and political education. With the globalization trend and the arrival of the knowledge-based economies, traditional conceptions in the ideological and political education can hardly meet the internal requirements of the social economic development. Only the ideological and political education keep innovating in the view of the value, mission, subject, method, quality, efficiency, can it achieve in education maximum results with little effort.Part Six (Chapter Five) elaborates on the innovations in the content of the ideological and political education. The thesis thinks that the content of the ideological and political education is a system with relative stability and perpetual progress. The innovations in the content of the ideological and political education must center on the overall situation of reform, progress, and stability so that we can perpetually enrich and deepen the content of the ideological and political education from a practical perspective while giving prominence to the ideological and political education which has idealities and beliefs as its nucleus. From a practical perspective, the content of the ideological and political education should be enriched in three different aspects: First, we should further the education content while center on the central task at the same time. The present emphasis should be laid on succeeding in carrying on education in "Si Xin", "Shuang Si". Second, we should enhance the science degree, the knowledge degree, and the informatization degree in theideological and political education. The current emphasis should be placed on carrying on well education in "Si Ke", legal consciousness, and legal systems. Third, we should press close to the masses, serve for the grass roots, and pay close attention to issues which are closely connected with the interests of the masses. We should add to the ideological and political education content which the masses are concerned about and are popular with them after pondering over what they are thinking about, what they are looking forward to, and what they are worried about. This chapter explores in the globalization context the innovations in the content of the ideological and political education from the education in idealities and beliefs, patriotism, sincerity, socialist moral, universal ethics, environmental ethics, and gene ethics, etc.Part Seven (Chapter Six) elaborates on the innovations in teaching methods in the ideological and political education. The thesis believes that teaching methods in the ideological and political education bridges the education content and the education purposes and acts as a channel of bilateral exchanges between the subject and the object of the education to fulfill the aims and the tasks of the ideological and political education. In the long process of the revolution and construction practice, our party has been attaching great importance to approaches to the ideological and political education. Jiang Zeming points out in his speech in the Central Ideological and Political Working Conference that we should adhere to those effective traditions and methods previously applied in strengthening and improving the ideological and political education. He points out further it is more important that we should keep exploring new ways and means and mechanisms to orient to the new conditions. In the new epoch, the socialist market economy system mellows day by day, and the political, economic, and cultural contexts in which the present teaching methods in the ideological and political education have changed greatly. At the same time, the reform and opening, the progress in science and technology, and the establishment of the socialist market economy system have exerted great influence on people's ideas, values, and moralities, and their ideology has taken on new characteristics. We can only keep exploring and creating new methods appropriate to the educational contexts and objects in accordance with people's changed ideological reality and the contextsof the epoch, including the method of combining infusing with interacting, the method of combining dominant education with recessive education, the method of teaching people according to their aptitude, the method of optimizing information and pursuing efficiency, and the rapport method. Only in this way can the ideological and political education work be fulfilled practically and effectively.Part Eight (Chapter Seven) elaborates on the innovations in the mechanism in the ideological and political education. The thesis thinks that the creation and progress of anything undergoes a process. The old mechanism decays, shrinks, and even disappears with the creation, progress, and perfection of the new one, which is the same process in which the old and new mechanisms change in opposite directions, and there is no exception to the ideological and political education mechanism. Though there are still controversies in the academic circle over the connotation and classification of the ideological and political education mechanism, the innovations in the ideological and political education mechanism can not be ceased. In particular, with the progress of the globalization and the deep going of the reform and opening, the trend of "Four Diversifications" in the social political economic activities challenges seriously the ideological and political education. As the ideological political education mechanism in the old system can not meet the changes and requirements of the new conditions, we must commit ourselves to innovating in the stimulating mechanism, the feedback mechanism, the infiltration mechanism, the evaluating mechanism, the pre-warning mechanism, and the support mechanism, in the ideological and political education on the basis of inheriting traditions so that we can maintain the vitality of the ideological and political education.
