On The Social Security In Building A Harmonious Socialist Society

The author of this dissertation, having the goal of building a harmonious socialist society put forward by the Communist Party of China on his mind, with Marxism as his guideline, with scientific Socialism as his research perspective, with social security in building a harmonious socialist society as his research object, discusses such questions as theoretical basis, basic prerequisites, fundamental requirements, institutional design, and policy making in building a harmonious socialist society and presents his suggestions. The discussion is combined with the value orientation of social fairness that is needed to be followed as relevant policies are implemented.As an important part of the general social welfare that the proletariat pursues, the social security has undergone continuous development and improvement on the level of ideological thinking and theoretical level. Since its birth, the Marxism always regards the following as its purpose and aim: to strive for development and welfare for the proletariat and the general public, and to realize the free and all-around development of human being at last. In this dissertation, the Marxist theory on social security and its theoretical fruits in China will be discussed and the theoretical basis of social security in building a harmonious socialist society will be clarified through systematically excavating the thoughts of classical Marxist writers on social security, the thoughts of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping on social security, and the expositions on social security of the Central Committee with Jiang Zemin at its core and of the new leadership of the Central Committee.To solve the problems and contradictions in social security system of China, the researchers should stand firmly in Chinese political, economic, and social and humanistic environments. In China, the socialist social security system has been explored, improved and developed. Since its foundation, the Communist Party of China, combining its work with the concrete historical conditions of each periods, has all along led the Chinese people to explore the social security system and implement it in practice, so the Party has accumulated a wealth of experience for institutional design and policy making in the field of social security and laid the institutional, material and technological foundation for the introduction of a reform of social security system.The presentation of the goal of building a harmonious socialist society makes the position of the social security system more apparent and elevates people's understanding on the social security system to a higher level.
