As the significant characteristics of human civilization, human rights and education share the common duty to create man's dignity and value, and are inclusive of each other. Human rights without education are just like a carriage without horses that fails to move, while education without human rights will be like a carriage unequipped with bodywork, carrying nothing. With the aid of human rights theories, this article attempts to go through the relationship between human rights and education within the field of education to analyze the current human rights situation of our country from the perspective of human rights education. In addition, this article will dwell on the human rights issues on the education scene in order to improve and upgrade the human rights situation in the education field and even in the entire society by means of reform in human rights education and the corresponding education.This article contains the following four parts.The first part, comprising the first chapter, discusses the human rights theories. It focuses on the issue "what is the connotation of human rights?" By analysis, the article holds that the human rights are the basic rights that bring about free development and fair treatment of the human individuals who live an extremely short life compared with that of the universe. These basic rights should be legally safeguarded and morally respected. Freedom and equality are the core values of human rights, and the universality of the human rights subject is the permanent attribute of human rights. Such inward values of human rights as freedom, equality and the universality of the human rights subject are the basic theory of the thoughts of the human rights in the article.The second part discussing the theories of human rights education consists of Chapter Two and Chapter Three. It depicts four aspects of the relationship between human rights and education: education is a human right; education enhances human rights; both human rights and education are featured by culture; human rights, education and society are isomorphic. On the basis of the relationship between human rights and education, the author draws out the connotation of human right -s education by studying the ideas taken as a logical start point of human rights education of outstanding educationists from China and foreign countries. The article deems that human right -seducation mainly includes "education about human rights" and "education for human rights". The former represents the content of education, while the latter is the goal. By teaching the related content in ways and approaches in accordance with human rights, human rights education is aimed at improving human rights.
