Negotiable instruments are important bargaining reckon tools, bearing functions of payment, credit, balance and financing etc. Negotiable instruments in this paper refer to portfolio that remitters themselves or entrust others to unconditionally pay a certain amount of money as specified on the instruments in certain place at certain date. Therefore, negotiable instruments in this paper are bill of exchange, cashiers cheque and cheque as stipulated in Negotiable Instruments Law.With the development of socialist market economy, transregional or transnational commodity circulation, labor and technical service become increasingly frequent. Transactions entailing negotiable instruments are increasingly manifold. However, due to the lack of insufficient inspecting systems and unsound regulation, some criminals, tempted by substantial potential profits, commit all sorts of crimes related to negotiable instruments, thereby resulting in undermined economic life and instability of economic order. In this sense, it is of great significance to carry out research on the crimes of negotiable instruments and take stronger actions to combat the crimes of negotiable instruments. The paper is intended to shed light on the crimes concerning negotiable instruments in a comprehensive way, ranging from legislation to justice, from macroscopy to microscopy, from"it ought to be"to"it is".The paper is composed of six chapters, covering different aspects of this issue, namely, the brief introduction in the first chapter, the general theory of crimes concerning negotiable instruments in the second chapter, forged crimes of negotiable instruments in the third chapter, take-in crimes of negotiable instruments in the fourth chapter, misconducted crimes of negotiable instruments in the fifth chapter, comparison of criminal legislation of negotiable instruments and perfection of criminal legislation of negotiable instruments of our country in the in the sixth chapter:The first chapter starts with a brief introduction to the crimes of negotiable instruments. It is followed by the review of the history of legislation of crimes of negotiable instruments in our country and legislation on the crimes of negotiable instruments abroad.
