This dissertation could be a philosophical analysis of the transformation of global collective identity based on evolutionary history. The argument is intentionally approached through historical, teleological and philosophical deducing, which can be catalogued into realistic idealism in IR theories. With respect to the case studies exemplified in the process of human evolution, sovereign transformation, national unification as well as the transference of international system, the draft holds that a global collective identity could be generated through constructing forces, thereby possibly signifying that the transformation of the international system can take place peacefully in the future. The chief ideas for supporting the assumption are around three conceptions, namely, the social facts can be constructed; the essence of the politics lies in its value-orientation, human history is evolutionary as well as a fact that we're living in a interdependent world. The argument is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the construction of human nature, social norms, social identity and the reality of the interdependent world, which are taken as necessary conditions for generating a global collective identity. The second part devotes to the transformation of six modes of collective identities experienced in the history or will experience in the future, namely the chaotic identity, the primitive identity, the classical state identity, modern sovereign identity, the post-sovereign identity, the world state identity, which are taken as the sufficient conditions or evidence for generating a global collective identity. The theoretical significance of the dissertation lies in an attempt to supplement a rough framework or mode in terms of the transformation of a global collective identity, thereby serving an argument for the transformation of the global system; whereby its positive significance lies in rendering healthy global governance as well as the construction of a global society.
