Win-m Import And Export Company To The Transformation Strain Transformation Research

State-owned foreign trade enterprises have been in an increasingly awkward predicament since the reform and opening policy cut back on their long-enjoyed privileges and prerogatives. China's entry into WTO seems pushing them further into a life-and-death situation.Among these enterprises that had long survived on exclusive rights is the M Import & Export Co. Ltd., whose deficiencies in management have been uncovered by the internal and external change. The company's exports in 1997 came to $ 0.9 million only, and in the following years there were worse deficit. A staff member at the company, in this thesis the writer tries to combine what he has experienced in person with what he has learnt in the MBA program, in hopes to offer some rational and feasible suggestions on the company's transform.The thesis consists of five parts with the company's transform as the main thread. The first part reviews the company's general situation, focusing on the emergency of the transformation. The second part analyzes the reasons why the company got into the predicament. The third part offers a study on the strategies to be applied in the transformation and the fourth part goes to elaborate the strategies into practical schemes. The fifth part is an evaluation of these schemes. Some delicate as well as important issues are addressed in the final section in order to provide a reference to all state-owned foreign trade companies that are going through transformation.
