The present geopolitical studies have entered the new development stage of all-direction visual angle. Scholars have rebuilt the concept and the method of traditional geopolitics according to new tools of history study,step analysis, dichotomy,multilateralism and rule theory.The selected topic direction of the book is geopolitics theory. Writing purpose is not introducing the concrete geopolitics theory content and retelled it , but analysing the theory's essence and guiding ideology ,and at the same time pointes out geo-political science controlled by two kinds concept eventually: the conflictual concept and the associative concept .The conflictual geopolitics concept observes the spirit essence embodying conflict and competition still more,which leeches on to power politics concept and always stay in main current position; the associative concept embodies peace and cooperation , which dispute main current's all the time. The main body of the book is to analyse limitation of the conflictual concept , the advantage and necessity pointing out the thought the associative concept of geopolitics. In germ's phrase of geopolitics, discuss was about to environment effect to human's character istic and action of nations mainly from the angle of ralations between human and environment with the scholars from ancient greek to the early 19ths . The discuss in this phrase has established certain basis for the creation of geopolitical science . Traditional geopolitics has two parts from the angle of level: to the level of nation, geopolitics is to explain the relation of geographical factors and state's power ; the level of international struture may explain how the bialateralism geopolitical struture . neo- geopolitics has two parts: the former concerns the new world rules of balance of power and the region map such as the grand chessboard theory, neoeurasialism ; the latter concerns new power factor as"core-rim"world rule theory and the clash of civilizations theory.Chapter Two Conflict: Dominant Geopolitical ConceptChapter two points out conflictual geopolitics still in leading position whenever the geopolitical theory was affected by it.
