Accelerating The Establishment And Promotion Of The System Of Volunteerism In China On The Basis Of The Beijing Olympic Games' Volunteerism

Beijing Olympic Games'volunteerism made a broad and far-reaching impact on the establishment and promotion of the system of vlunteerism in China. This study ananlyses the Bei jing Olympic volunteer work in detail, from volunteerism, volunteers, volunteer organization, volunteer activities and other aspects of supporting elements,summing up the Beijing Olympic volunteerism expenrience, enriching the Olympic volunteerism theory, and providing reference for future large-scale enevts.Meanwhile,according to our national conditions and the development of volunteerism and current status, making the Beijing Olympic Games as a good opportunity, we try to establish and promote the development of volunteerism system with Chinese characteristics and sustainability, in promote its healthy and steady development, and ultmately promote the process of building a harmonious society.This study reached fllowing concluisions:1. Chinese volunteerism system is a comprehensive and sustained combination. consisting of the voluntary culture, volunteer, volunteer organizations,activities and supporing elements. Based on Chinese national conditions, it is guided by the important thoughts"three represents"and Deng Xiaoping Theory, with theme of"mutual love and setving the society",aiming at enhancing the whole national quality.2. Our volunteerism system has a history of more than 30 years. We have made great achievements in youth volunteerism, overseas volunteerism and voluntary service in communities, which have a positive effect on harmonizing social relationship, resolving social confLicis and other aspeets. But there are still many problems and defects, such as lack of law protection and regulations, imperfect system, lack of funds, etc which will be improved during the development. 2. Beijing Olympics vounteerism is based on the concppt of humanistic Olympics,"people-oriented, harmonious frist."It is the spirit of love, friendship, utity, devtion, briary, cooperation, optimism and no boundry, wih which all the volunteers together, participating, contributing and feeling contentedly happy.4. Thanks to their moral and physical quality,1,700,000 Beijing Olympic volunteers encured the smooth of the events by using their perfect skills both in serving and communicating. These volunteer actives were various with distinct themes, creating the unique"Beijing Model".5. As a huge practical activity with great influence,Beijing Olympic volunteerism strongly promoted the development and improvement of volunteerism, volunteers,volunteer organizations, volunteer activities and support elements,pushing the volunteerism forward entirely.6. Considering the developing process of Chinese volunteerism system and its current status, theoretical base and basic principles about how to build and perfect the system come up, and their characteristics are analyzed in detail. The most important thing about whether our voluntary service sysytem can develop stably in long term is to build and perfect the strcture of voluntary organization in a macro and micro way with Chinese own charactics which can meet international demands.
