The Research On The Educational Activities Of Olympic Volunteer In Beijing Residents

This paper,as a subset of the key issues of National Social Science Fund named "study of the Beijing model of the international Olympic education",is mainly focused on the development of Olympic volunteerism education in Beijing residents and its problems.The Olympic Games has brought new educational concepts,new developing opportunities and new developing impetus for Chinese education.Millions of Beijing citizens has thrown themselves into the Olympic educational activites.The development of Olympic volunteerism education in Beijing residents has further propagated and popularized the Olympic volunteerism,provided a chance for the residents to put the Olympic volunteerism into practice,and greatly improved them the general public awareness of volunteer service,which is a successful social morality education and has an extremely important significance for the development of Beijing city civilization.This paper analyzes the Olympic volunteerism educational activities in Beijing residents from two angles:the form of the activities and the participating subject.In accordance with the forms of the activities, the vohnteerism educational activities can be divided into six types as follows:environment beautification and health keeping activities, civilized manners publicity and education activities,the Olympic Games Knowledge Learning activities,cultural performance activities for welcoming the Olympic Games,order maintaining activities in public places and the Olympic security activities in the communities.And In accordance with the forms of the activities,the volunteerism educational activities can be divided into five aspects:governmental management and supervision,non-governmental education and publicity,involvement of schools and communities,volunteering public welfare activities as well as the broad participation of the residents.From the study it finds the following characteristics of the Olympic volunteerism educational activities in Beijing residents: diversification of the participating subjects,wide publicity of the medias,carting out in different levels and phases in communities,close combination with "People's Olympics" and "Green Olympics",combinations of holidays and educational activities,combinations of schools and comunities.After a great deal of social research and statistical analysis,it concludes that there are mainly three problem existing:inadequacy of residents' awareness of the Olympic volunteerism,lack of the protection for volunteers' rights and interests,and imperfect development of volunteer organizations.
