Guan Dong refers to the geographic and cultural term being formed after the construction of Shan Haiguan in Ming Dynasty of China. Shan Haiguan and the Great Wall artifially formed two places, the east China and the northeastern China. Since then people called the spacious area of Province Liao Ning, Ji Lin and Hei Longjiang"Guan Dong"or"Guan Wai". The whole Guan Dong is embraced by three mountainsystems, three watersystems with the northeastern plateau in the middle, wersten prairie being located in Hei Longjiang, western Ji Lin and the northwestern Liao Ning, linking to inner Mongolia, the south of which is close to Yellow Sea and Pohai, which all gave shape to the basic natural environment characteristics that mountains connecting waters, open and convenient transportation, diversified and fertile landforms.The reason why Guan Dong can be considered as a whole geographic and cultural note is that it owns the geographic compatibility and cultural nature at the same time. The comparatively complete and independent geographic area provides the formation and development of confederation of Wushu culture of Guan Dong with environmental conditions and material foundation. In addition to that, several humane factors such as politics, religion and nationality and so on which influence with each other all constitute comparatively independent and special Wushu culture of Guan Dong.Therefore, the Wushu culture of Guan Dong can be defined as the combination of material and spiritual products of relative Wushu activities created by people living in the Guan Dong area.This research regards the Wushu in Guan Dong area as the object of study with the combination of Wushu theories, which discusses the accumulation of Wushu culture in Guan Dong area from diversified perspectives and elaborates various cultural phenomena and forms of Wushu. It also analyzes and summarizes the inner rules of forming, development and revolution of Wushu culture of Guan Dong so as to reveal the obvious characteristics and spiritual connotations of Wushu culture of Guan Dong, present the revolution of the schools of Wushu culture of Guan Dong and substantiate the influence of migrant citizens on skills, schools and culture of Wushu of Guan Dong.First: Different characteristics in different periods of Guandong Wushu cultureThe unique characteristic of Guandong Wushu is that it is always changing and developing. So it presents remarkable features of different periods. In ancient times, the minorities led a life of moving around in search of pasture. Fishing and hunting, Mounted Archery culture(a kind of culture emphasizing on horseback riding and archery) is the core of Guandong Wushu culture, leading to form utility-and-strength-advocation cultural form of Guandong Wushu. In modern times, as massive immigrants kept pouring into Guandong District, the original social system of Guandong was broken. As a result, Mounted Archery culture is not only the core of Guandong Wushu,but also the key part of regional culture.With the introduction of Quan (a concrete aspect of Wushu) based on Han culture, morals and virtue of Wushu also became priority of Guandong Wushu culture. This kind of political system featured by utility restricted the development of Taozi feat in Guandong area on a large scale.Productivity is the leading factor of the formation and development of Guandong Wushu culture. With the development of productivity, Guandong Wushu becomes an activity emphasizing more on spirits with morals and etiquettes rather than a skill or purely physical movements.
