Selection is the specific way of human life and it can be learned through education. Meanwhile, selection is developing with the development of human society evolving. The objects and means of human selection is not the same in different periods of the development of human society, and they are determined by the objective environment. Both the world and society are diverse; therefore, the existence way of society is changing, which is changing the way of everybody's life in such a global, diversified and informationizational open environment. We are faced with not only material wealth and rapid economic development but the multiple and diverse values of the world, with the further deepened process of Chinese reform and opening up. People must and are able to select, facing with a variety of information and ideas. Otherwise, they would be misled and even submerged by the sea of information. Therefore, there is the inherent and inevitable logic among openness, diversity and selectivity. That is, openness leads to diversity inevitably and selectivity is an inevitable requirement of diversity. Learning to select is a personal expression of independence and autonomy and a process of self-education, self development and freedom to grow. No one can survive, be taught, develop or succeed without selection. The selection of values plays a decisive role among so many selections and whether the selection of values is correct decides to the correctness of a series of other choices directly. The selection of values is the requirement of grasping the right direction in life, personal growth and comprehensive human development. Teaching to select is a golden key to solve this problem under the full of complexity and diversity of information, fast changing and conflicting open environment. So, how to make the selection of values is of great significance and deserves in-depth study and exploration seriously.The starting point of this thesis is to resolve the contemporary issue; the focus is to develop people's capacity to the selection of values; the goal is to help people select and establish the socialist core value system consciously; and the ultimate goal is to achieve human freedom and comprehensive development. This article proposes the basic idea of education on selection in the open environment, and the text is divided into seven parts, including Introduction and six chapters. Introduction is the origin of the problem and expounds the origin, focus and research methods of education on selection in the open environment. Chapterâ… , named "The value and definition of education on selection in the open environment", discusses the importance, necessity and inevitability of education on selection in the open environment from the three perspectives of the development of time, education and human. Chapterâ…¡, named "The basis and reference of education on selection in the open environment", mainly explained the three major theoretical basis and reference of education on selection in the open environment, that is, the theory of the Unity of Opposites, Shuang Bai Policy ideas, and the Standard of Truth theory. Chapterâ…¢, named "The nature and characteristics of education on selection in the open environment", discusses the content of education on selection in the open environment and points out that the nature of education on selection in the open environment is the judgments, selection and construction of value. And it can be expresses as three unities:the unity of learning to select and educating to select, the unity of the selection of knowledge and the selection of value, and the unity of cognitive selection and behavior selection. At the same time, this chapter also identifies the characteristics of education on selection in the open environment as follow:subject, comparativeness, diversity, tendency and constructiveness. On the basis of clarity of the relationship between subject and object, Chapterâ…£, named "The process of and modes of education on selection in the open environment", discusses the process of education on selection in the open environment is the combination of the two contexts:internalization-externalization--second internalization--second externalization, which is also accompanied by the process "comparison--judgment--choice--construction--practice", starting with the analysis of the subject and object of education on selection in the open environment. The core of the modes of education on selection in the open environment is subjective education mode, and its details are comparison of selection mode, competitive selection mode and practice selection mode. Chapterâ…¤, named "The content and focus of education on selection in the open environment", establishes the content of education on selection in the open environment from five aspects, meeting with the needs and process of training people to select and establish the socialist core value system consciously and initiatively, focusing on the five aspects as follow:the enlightenment of selection consciousness, the highlights of selection focus, the establishment of selection criteria, training the ability to select and the guidance of selection method. Chapterâ…¥is "The principles and methods of education on selection in the open environment". The principles here are the rules to follow in the implementation process, including subject principle, advancement principle, hierarchy principle, development principle and reality principle. And the methods here are the means of implementation of education on selection in the open environment, and they are the combination of related theory with practice of education. Whether the methods are scientific and proper is of great importance as they will impact the educational effect of the education on selection in the open environment directly. The methods mainly include comparative education method, multi-way interactive method, test of practice method, experience method, competing method, simulation selection method and model demonstration method.
