A Study On The Establishment Of China Youth Beach Volleyballer Selection Index System And The Design Of Volleyballer Selection Software

Athlete selection is the precondition and initial preparation of athletic training which isdesigned to select the talents with superior congenital conditions for a certain sport and providethem with systematic and goal-directed training in order to achieve excellent sport performance. Inthe selection process, all available methods should be used to predict if the youth selected iscapable of making good performance through professional training. This kind of prediction ismade based on the comprehensive integration of various information concerning genetics,morphology, physiology and statistics as well as other disciplines which is also an importantresearch topic in the field of sports.At present, no clear and detailed discussion has been made on beachvolleyballer selection in China. According to the requirements and the characteristicsof the beach volleyball, China youth beach volleyballer selection indexes wereidentified and the weight coefficients of the indexes were determined in this paper,thus China youth beach volleyballer selection index system was established. At thesame time, the basic content of the selection software was designed and somesoftware technologists were invited to develop the software.Some research methods, such as questionnaire survey and expert interview, wereused to study the contents concerning China youth beach volleyballer selection andthe results are shown as below:（1）Beach volleyballer selection plays a critical role in the development of the sport.At present, the implementation of China beach volleyballer selection is far fromoptimistic. Most provinces and cities have not established an athlete conveyingsystem and only very few teams would do special work for beach volleyballerselection according to relevant system.（2）China youth beach volleyballer selection index system was well establishedwhich covers8first-class indexes, namely family survey, body shape, developmentdegree, physical quality, special technical indexes, physiological indexes,psychological indexes and coaches’ evaluation. Some of the first-class indexes havesubordinate indexes, including27second-class indexes and14third-class indexes intotal.（3）The weight coefficients of the indexes at all levels of China youth beachvolleyballer selection index system were determined by experts, which marked thatChina youth beach volleyballer selection system was established well.（4）According to the selection index system, China beach volleyballer selectionsoftware was also designed and developed. The functions of the software can wellmeet the requirements of beach volleyballer selection by applying informationtechnology to the process of China beach volleyballer selection.
