Surrounding of mass communication is one of the important social circumstances to affect collegians. In recent years, many scholars have paid more attention to relative researches in the Home and abroad. The influence to people's sport life cannot be neglected among the researches. It brings forward some new studying tasks to physical education in school. However, up to the present, there are few researches about the topic published. To know and to realize the Sport Information on Mass Communication (SIMC) on the whole, and to improve and to provide some foundation of development of Collegians in sport, on the basis of studying many relevant documents and consulting a lot of experts, the questionnaire survey is the main method through the 1806 collegians of 19 universities and colleges in Home and 540 collegians in Poland, and 140 collegians in Beijing during the Asia Sport Meeting in 2002. To open out the influence of SIMC to sport life of collegians in theory inpositive and negative aspects . to establish some measures, to describe the behavior,the characteristics of process and effect, the research investigate and analyze from each part of SIMC by combining the research methods of fix quantify and determine the nature. The conclusions are as follows:1. Collegians are main force in the information sociality, which have close relationship with the degree of educated. They represent different behavior and consciousness of contacting mass medium with individual and social dissimilarity.2.Collegians have many needs to contact SIMC. There are different needs with different mediums. The motivation that collegians contact SIMC has something to do with degree of interest of students.3. SIMC with the function of propagandizing public opinion, serving of physicaleducation, consumption of physical culture have positive influence to the collegians' sport attitude, sport interest, view of opinion of sport value, and manner of physical activities. Kinds and contents of mediums restrict the degree of influence.4. Collegians pay different attention to different contents of SIMC; different kinds of SIMC can meet different needs of different contents for students. The degree of favor is different with the different kinds of SIMC. Television, Newspaper, and Internet are favorite medium to collegians. They think that a majority of SIMC is better in vision and imagination. The main problems are inadequate in variety of SIMC, monotony in format, unsuitable in sending time.5. Mass communication can produce some negative influences in sport cognition, sport moral, idol adoration, and participating in physical activities. The reasons can cum up to following aspects, negative influence of market economy, unhealthy thoughts in sociality, trend of iniquity and phenomenon of corruption, distempered physical education system, weakness of collegians themselves and so on.6. The main problems of collegians contacting SIMC are following aspects, inadequate media channel, not intension enough influence, deflection of influence, Deficiency in the cognition of function of SIMC and the ability of sensitivity, not definitude need of SIMC. Set down some correspond policies of mass communication to collegians is necessary as suggestion. Government should pilot as a corn, and media education should as a keystone in school. The role of PE teacher in using media should be strengthened in school education. PE should go with using mass media.
