In the recent years, the research on the Christian colleges and universities is gradually warmly. The thesis focus on the Christian colleges and universities and students' everyday life, and the narrative inquiry will be the main method. We hope to display the different sides of the Christian colleges and universities students life by the description of the student's individual life. Then we can real walk into and re-know the Christian colleges and universities in modern history of China. By the way, I should declare that the period of time in this thesis is before 1937.In addition to introduction, this thesis is to be divided into three parts, which include seven chapters. Its main structure and contents are as follows:The part of introduction defines the basic content and scopes of the Christian colleges and universities firstly, then explains the purpose and significance of the study, problems and solutions, structure of the thesis and the train of thought, method, and basis of datum and the period of time, etc.The first part is total to be divided into two chapters, which main task is to provide a background analysis in this thesis. The purpose of chapter one is to lay in the basic clues about the development of the Christian colleges and universities, to announce the motive force of its development, and to find the regulation of its development. Chapter two is then a background analysis of the Christian colleges and universities students. Firstly, this Chapter mainly analyzes the different background of students' religion and region, and the different features in different Christian colleges and universities. Secondly, it makes to know the different desire and motive for students to enter the Christian colleges and universities. Thirdly, it shows the important position and special values of the Christian colleges and universities and their students during the progress of Chinese society development.The second part is just the core and the most important portion in this thesis, which includes about four chapters. These four chapters just narrative the Christian colleges and universities students from their religious life, study life, political life and campus life. Analyze its different characteristics, then announce to public the different function of the Christian colleges and universities to develop the fluctuation of the stage in the dissimilarity and it incline to.The third part is the conclusion of the full thesis. Through above-mentioned, analysis, we discover: The Christian colleges and universities have the very special position on near modern history in China with the special value: On the one hand, asthe medium of the Christianity evangel dissemination, they undertake the responsibility to train the emissary and future leaders; On the other hand, they also are the creatures by the Chinese modernization development. Exactly because of this kind of special background of the Christian colleges and universities, thus caused their students be placed in a kind of center of self-contradict whirlpool of extreme opposition and conflict always, they are also the heart that bear always to cross-examine. Finally, they do an own choice between the religion faith and the race approbation, and the Christian colleges and universities also walked to finish the road of their evangel dissemination finally at the same time, transmuting into the Chinese race education system after "the Anti- Christian Movement" .
