With the development of market economy, at the time of economicglobalization and educational internationalization having come into true, therelations among higher education and society, economy, population and the likewill be reconsidered again. Therefore, the research on sustainable development inhigher education and its economic theory is an urgent solved problem of how highereducation's development adapts to full-scale and corresponding sustainabledevelopment between society and economy, and the important theory foundation ofthe macro decision of higher education's development.Based on the sustainable development theory and system science theory, combined with some present achievements concerning the theory and practice ofsustainable development and economics in higher education in China or in othercountries, some research achievements of West Economics are adequately absorbed, including New Economic Growth Theory, Human Capital Theory and WelfareEconomics, and some specific methods are used, including qualitative analysis andquantitative analysis, normative analysis and empirical analysis, logic analysis andhistorical analysis, comparative analysis and synthesized analysis, and so on. Fromthe perspective of economics, a study on the higher education's sustainabledevelopment's theory constructions and its economic values and functions is carriedout, in order to dissert the important role of higher education's sustainabledevelopment to society and economy's sustainable development. The three innovative works of this paper are as follows: first, applyingnon-liner programming methods and choosing Logistic model, carrying out a shortforecast and a long forecast about an expanding tendency in higher education, andgaining an accurate forecasting result. Secondly, applying effectiveness theory andconstructing a conception model about higher education's weaker-compensation,and in theory, qualitatively testifying that the weaker-compensation principle is akey path to fulfill a balance and unification between equality and efficiency inhigher education. Thirdly, applying dissipative structure theory and constructing adissipative model about continuous gift resources' supply-demand system. In thismodel, non-liner reciprocal actions among elements in the supply-demand systemresolve the development and evolution of the whole system. On the other hand, thepaper expounds sustainable developing higher education's economic effectincluding productive effect, externality effect, employment effect and consumptioneffect, and carries out some qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis about thefour effects. This paper couldn't resolve all problems of higher education's macrodevelopments, but, from the perspectives of society, economy, and education, fromthe points of higher education's sustainable developments and its economicresearches, on the base of the present achievements, it is hoped that it could abstractsome disciplinary knowledge and construct quantitative models in order to providecertain decision reference for the corresponding development between highereducation and economic society.
