Teaching value is a pluralistic category; any kind of teaching value orientation can not become the main standard in the studying activity as the only value truth. It is difficult to dispel the contradiction and antithesis among various kinds of value orientations, but we should make great efforts to seek the best choice in many kinds of possibility. In those possible values, the "practical wisdom" is a kind of "self-sustaining" value which is worth pursuing and may be realized during the course of the teaching activity.We usually regard the relation between the subject and the object as the theoretical foundation of analyzing and understanding the concept of value. Thus, teaching value is interpreted as a kind of relation which teaching-object harmoniously meets teaching -subject's needs. By doing so, it has some certain rationality and positive meaning that not only has surmounted simple antithesis between "the subject needs " and " attribute of the object", but also stress the social history and the subjective practicality. However, It also has certain limitations, that is, which overly emphasize the need of the subject and influence of the social development burdened on the subject, and make teaching become the tool of meeting the subject's need when this understanding is implemented in the concrete teaching practice. These limitations are result from that the chase efficiency and utility as the main value orientation led by economic development in the social life of modern society. Furthermore, teaching value has lost the practical wisdom value because its obvious inclination of technicalization and practical utilitarianism make teaching become means or tool realizing a certain purpose.Practical wisdom refers to a unified experience of the true and the good coming from teaching activity. It is a ultimate pursue during the human survival course and a harmonious unified of the vitality and goodness. This text regards practical wisdom as a kind of possible teaching value on the theatrical foundation of self-sustaining value. In self-sustaining value, if a certain thing can realize its own purpose, we say that it is valuable; that is practical wisdom called by us when the value reflected by teaching realizes its own purpose. The reason why teaching contains and really tramples intelligence value is that the essence of teaching is practice, namely a kind of activity including its own purpose, a kind of activity different from the technical activity excluding its own purposes. Self-sustaining value and relation-type value are harmonious instead of contradictory, for it has met demands of subject while realizing self-sustaining value. So, practical wisdom value and relation-type value will not be set against at all either.Practical wisdom is not the category of entity, and not purely subjective or introversive either, it realizes in the course of concrete practice activity. It is neither too familiar nor too distant to experience, not only comes but also surmounts from experience. While appraising practical wisdom, we do not proceed from priori value standard, but adopt the appraisal thought of "no-position" and pursue "compromised" and "suitable". Practical wisdom is an accumulate value that can't be neglected hidden in teaching course, it is hopeful that practical wisdom can provide the motive force to teachers and students of realizing themselves, and bring a inherent happiness and peaceful soul to teachers and students. |
